My last couple of weeks have been wrapped up in careful consideration of the Coronavirus and how to best support the community through Ponte Vedra Martial Arts Academy. While I don’t feel that I am authority on the subject, I do feel as though I have enough information to set some things in place so that parents and students can feel as though the Academy is a safe place to train, even though other activities are being postponed and even cancelled.
Everything we have taken for granted has gone out of the window, so to speak. Accepting change at the toll plaza, having a good Samaritan hand you your cell phone after it mysteriously hopped out of your hands, getting a pizza delivered. None of these are things you would have thought twice about 6 months ago, but now there is a different meaning. I tell myself that I have to look past the fear, as difficult as that may be from time to time.
Logically, I know that I can mitigate any of this with a good “old-fashioned” hand washing. The hype around the virus squelches the logic at times and makes getting past the issue of the virus difficult.
I know that trusting in God, that his will be done, is sometimes the best I can do. Other times I wash my face too and move on to other matters, knowing that “this too shall pass”.
