We’re proud to recognize Riley Skaja as our Kids Program Student of the Month!

Riley has been showing up consistently, putting in the work, and bringing a great attitude to every class. Whether it’s drilling techniques, helping teammates, or pushing through challenges, he’s been a great example of what it means to grow on and off the mats.

What really stands out is Riley’s focus and willingness to learn—he listens, applies feedback, and keeps improving every week. That kind of effort is exactly what we love to see in our students.

School’s almost out—just a couple weeks left—and if you’ve got kids at home, you already know what’s coming… a lot of extra energy 😅

Summer is one of the best times to get into jiu jitsu. For kids, it gives them something structured to show up to, helps build confidence, and burns off that energy in a positive way.

Some well earned promotions last night in our kids program!!
Lincoln earned his grey/white belt: Lincoln has always been a super respectful, attentive and caring student of the sport! His engaged and hardworking attitude will continue to take him far!
Riley earned a stripe: Riley is a great student to have the gym! He has made some really great progress and we are proud of him and his growth.

Big congratulations to Omar Ramos on earning his Blue Belt! This promotion represents countless hours of hard work, consistency, and a strong commitment to improvement. Congratulations to our young students on their promotions today! Aristotle, Harvey, and Levi each earned new stripes on their belts, showing great progress and dedication. Xenia was also promoted from solid grey to grey/black, an exciting milestone in her jiu jitsu journey. She always shows up ready to work and it shows! We’re proud of the effort and focus each of these athletes brings to the mats every week. Keep up the great work!

We are excited to announce that starting on April 7th, we will be adding an advanced kids class! We care about the progress of each student, and want everyone to be challenged to get better! This class will be for solid grey belts and up, or by instructor invitation. Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5:15-6pm!!

It was a great week at High Country Jiu Jitsu! The kids class focused on the back position, which included control, defenses, submissions and escapes! The adults class worked through the truck position and got familiar with various entries and submissions! We are super thankful for this community and can’t wait to continue building and growing here!
