Tiger Kenpo Karate if you are interested in Kenpo Karate in the Ponca City, OK area. Ponca City Kenpo Karate is led by 6th degree black belt Sensei Stuart Gil who has been training and teaching in the style for over 30 years. Sensei Stuart was trained by Sensei Erick Schumann in Guatemala. Kenpo Karate is a martial arts and self-defense style derived from Sensei Bill Ryusaki and Sensei Ed Parker a

nd means "the law of the fist with the empty hand". Training consists of self-defense techniques from various attacks (such as punches, kicks, and grabs) and their subsequent counter attack (known as wasas and grabbings). Point and continuous sparring is taught in class. Forms known as katas are also taught. Training is available for ages 4 and up. The class schedule is as follows:

Monday
4:30pm – 5:30pm (Beginner – Open to All Belts)
5:30pm – 6:30pm (Intermediate – Orange Belt and Above)

Tuesday
4:30pm – 5:15pm (Beginner – Ages 4-7)
5:15pm – 6:15pm (Beginner – Open to All Belts)

Wednesday
4:30pm – 5:30pm (Beginner – Open to All Belts)
5:30pm – 6:30pm (Advanced – Blue Belt and Above)

Thursday
4:30pm – 5:15pm (Beginner – Ages 4-7)
5:15pm – 6:15pm (Beginner – Open to All Belts)

Friday
4:30pm – 5:30pm (Beginner – Open to All Belts)
4:30pm – 6:30pm (Intermediate – Orange Belt and Above)

For those interested in Kenpo Karate, Ponca City Kenpo Karate was closed in 2019 due to Sensei Stuart Gil’s retirement. Sensei Tim Burden operates Dragon vs. Tiger Kenpo Karate which is the Kenpo school in Ponca City now. Come join us and try a couple free classes! We have a growing and thriving karate school!

From Sensei Tim Burden.

I would like to personally thank Sensei Stuart for his dedication to Kenpo Karate over the years. My family joined Ponca City Kenpo Karate in 2010, and the many years of training under Sensei Stuart have been a tremendous benefit to us over the years. He has been an excellent Sensei, and I would not be where I am today without his many years of teaching and mentoring. Blessings on your upcoming adventures, Sensei Stuart!

Concerning the future of Kenpo Karate in Ponca City, I have received blessing from Sensei Stuart to open my own Kenpo Karate school. I debated and prayed for many days on how I could make this work. Ultimately, I have decided to open my own school called “Dragon vs. Tiger Kenpo Karate”. Most of the students from Ponca City Kenpo Karate will be continuing their training under my instruction at our new school. We have plans of starting classes on Monday, January 6th. I invite you to join our new page where you see the latest information.

PCKK has been operational since 1993 in Ponca City and now is officially closing due to Sensei Stuart Gil Retirement from the art.
