Please sign up for Pottawatomie League if your child is interested in the competitive league for basketball grade levels 3/4 and 5/6 boys and girls. I know I previously said to call/text/email to register, but please go to recdesk and register online by 1/31/2026. Thanks for your patience with this new journey, we are very excited to begin this league!

📣📣 West Franklin is excited to announce participation in a new competitive basketball league beginning in February. The Pottawatomie Valley Basketball League will include teams for 3rd/4th grade girls and boys and 5th/6th grade girls. We tried to get a 5th/6th boys league, but coaches expressed concern since all the participating schools are in a Paola league that is competitive. We plan to look into this league for our 5th/6th grade boys for upcoming years.

As this is a newly formed league, details are still being finalized. Each team will consist of 8–10 players selected based on work ethic and skill level. The season is expected to span approximately four weeks, with two games per day of play.

We are also seeking coaches for the 3rd/4th boys and girls who demonstrate strong leadership and a commitment to player development. The goal of this league is to provide our athletes with opportunities to compete against stronger teams and enhance their skills through higher-level play.

The participation fee is expected to be around $90 per player, and game locations are yet to be determined. Schools currently expressing interest include Central Heights, Osawatomie, Paola, Louisburg, Prairie View, and Garnett. Most games will likely be held at Central Heights, with potential additional games at Pomona, where both gymnasiums may be utilized. However, we cannot rule out one of these teams hosting at their gymnasium if needed.

If games are hosted in Pomona, we will need 2–4 referees to assist.
