✨😂 LIGHTEN UP: JOY IN MOTION 😂✨

THIS IS IT! Our final Yoga on the River of the season!

And Michelle Kucera-Jewell is closing us out the best way she knows how...with movement, connection, laughter, and probably at least a little ridiculousness.

For Lighten Up: Joy in Motion, we are giving ourselves permission to PLAY.

We’ll move. We’ll breathe. We’ll practice laughter yoga. We’ll connect with one another. We’ll shake it out. We may look a little ridiculous at some point.

And that is EXACTLY the point. Because we all need more joy. We all need more laughter. We all need spaces where we can put down the heaviness for a little while and remember what it feels like to simply be ALIVE in our bodies.

This summer, we have gathered week after week at the river or Court Street Commons and one weather session Meigs County District Public Library We’ve moved and breathed together. We’ve welcomed incredible teachers, celebrated amazing local businesses and organizations, tried new things, laughed, played, rested, and continued to grow this beautiful little community together.

So for our final Wednesday, let’s CELEBRATE IT.

Let’s fill Court Street Commons one more time with bodies moving, humans laughing, and a whole lot of JOY.

Our final class is generously sponsored by our beloved friends at River Roasters Coffee Co. Candice Hess, Larry Hess Jr., and their incredible team, who understand something we believe deeply: beautiful things happen when you create spaces for people to gather.

✨ Wednesday, September 9 at 6 PM
📍 Court Street Commons
🌿 FREE + OPEN TO ALL

Bring your mat. Bring your friends. Bring your willingness to be a little silly.

Come laugh with us. Come move with us. Come celebrate with us.

Let’s close out another beautiful season of Yoga on the River together...lighter, louder, and full of JOY.

☕️ THIS WEEK’S SPONSOR: River Roasters Coffee Co. ☕️

For our FINAL Yoga on the River of the season, we get to celebrate some people we absolutely adore: Candice Hess, Larry Hess Jr., and the entire team at River Roasters Coffee Co.

Oh, how we love River Roasters.

Yes, they have incredible coffee. Yes, their baked goods are AMAZING. Their fresh lunches and rotating menu are some of our absolute favorites...give us a really good River Roasters salad any day of the week. And don't even get us started on the cheesecake. THE BEST CHEESECAKE IN ALL OF THE LAND.

But as much as we love the food and coffee, what we love most are the people behind it all.

Candice and Larry are the kind of people who show up for this community again and again and again. They support local organizations, community projects, events, and people, often quietly, behind the scenes, without fanfare and without asking for recognition.

And that is exactly why we want to recognize them.

So much of what makes a small community beautiful happens because of people who simply keep showing up. People who say yes. People who give what they can. People who offer a meal, a space, a donation, a sponsorship, a helping hand, or whatever else is needed and don't need everyone to know they did it.

Candice, Larry, and the entire River Roasters team: WE SEE YOU.

We see how much you love this community.
We see how generously you support it.
We see the ways you show up when no one is watching.
And we are so incredibly grateful for you.

Thank you for sponsoring our final Yoga on the River of the season and helping us continue to offer FREE yoga to this community we all love so much.

We love you, River Roasters. We love what you've created and how you have been showing up for nearly 8 years ! We are so grateful you're part of this little river town.

Now, about that cheesecake...

EQUANIMITY: FINDING STILLNESS WITHIN

Become the sky, not the clouds.

This Wednesday, we welcome Erin Deitzler back for her second year teaching at Yoga on the River for a practice exploring the yogic virtue of upeksa - equanimity.

Through a slow, balancing, heart-opening, and centering asana and pranayama practice, Erin will invite us to explore what it means to observe rather than absorb our experiences.

To find the stillness within us even when life around us feels anything but still. To discover our harbor in the tempest.

ABOUT ERIN:
Erin is a holistic licensed professional counselor and yoga teacher dedicated to walking the path of healing, self-discovery and joy with her clients and students. Her professional counseling approach incorporates yoga philosophy, mindful movement/breathwork and modern psychological techniques. Erin is passionate about human connection, nature's wisdom, her German Shepherds and adventuring around the country and globe. If you're interested in working with Erin individually within a holistic framework, contact New Day Therapy @ 304.485.3345 or www.newdaytherapy.net.

This week’s Yoga on the River is generously sponsored by Alex Waugh, Realtor, Wiseman Real Estate, helping us continue to offer FREE yoga to our community all summer long. As if this wasn't generous enough, Alex will be sharing a light supper of red beans and rice after practice!

Since the river has been up and we aren't sure it will be down, and the dock won't be covered by mud and debris, we will meet at the fountains at Court Street Commons in front of COURT GRILL and Gallery 14. Plus, Alex needs power for the crockpots, so it's perfect!

🌿 Wednesday, August 26 at 6 PM - stay for a shared meal thanks to Alex
📍 Court Street Commons
✨ FREE + OPEN TO ALL

Bring your mat. Bring your breath. Bring whatever life has been asking you to carry. For an hour, let’s practice becoming the sky. ☁️

🏡 THIS WEEK’S YOGA ON THE RIVER SPONSOR: ALEX WAUGH WISEMAN REAL ESTATE 🏡

This week, we are so grateful to Alex Waugh, Realtor, Wiseman Real Estate for sponsoring Yoga on the River!

Alex is part of a company that has been helping people find their place in Southeast Ohio for generations. Wiseman Real Estate has roots in our region dating all the way back to 1943, building its reputation around honesty, integrity, hard work, and truly knowing the communities they serve.

And we love seeing Alex continue that tradition right here in our community.

There is something pretty special about a local realtor choosing to invest back into the place they call home. Alex’s sponsorship helps us gather together, move our bodies, breathe, connect, and continue offering Yoga on the River completely FREE to anyone who wants to join us.

Because a community is about so much more than houses and property. It’s about the people who live here. The relationships we build. The ways we show up for one another. And the things we create together.

Thank you, Alex, for showing up for this community and supporting Yoga on the River. And thank you to the team at Wiseman Real Estate for the many years you’ve spent helping people throughout Southeast Ohio find a place to call home.

We are so grateful to have you as part of what we’re building together. 🏡💚

JENNY STOTTS IS BACK!!!

We are so excited to welcome Jenny Stotts back to Yoga on the River this Wednesday to guide us through Dream On: Soft Yin.

This week, bring a dream with you. Maybe it’s a dream for your life. Maybe it’s an actual dream that has stayed with you. Maybe it’s something you’ve been imagining, hoping for, or quietly carrying in your heart. It might be a picture. It might be words on paper. It might exist only inside you. Just bring it.

Jenny will guide us through a soft Yin practice...a chance to slow down, settle into our bodies, and create some spaciousness for whatever wants to emerge when we get quiet enough to listen.

Bring your mat and a blanket or two for extra coziness and comfort.

This week’s Yoga on the River is generously sponsored by Five Rivers Indian Cuisine and we are so grateful to Chef Manju and Arun for supporting free yoga in our community during Chef Manju’s birthday week! ❤️🍛
