ices as they learn this classic game. Point Venture was designed in 1972 by 3-time Masters Champion Jimmy Demaret. The Dallas Morning News has described it as one of the best 9-hole courses in Texas. Carved out of the Hill Country's defining rocks and cedar trees, the course was laid out on a peninsula on the north shore of the world famous Lake Travis, meaning all nine holes have picturesque views. Our course plays longer than its yardage, due to sharp doglegs that force you to hit some irons and fairway woods off the tees, leaving you some mid irons onto the greens. These doglegs also add a risk/reward element for longer hitters because some of the greens are driveable, if you gamble with cutting the dogleg. The driver can win you an eagle, but if the driver goes crooked you'll end up with a double bogey, real quick. We keep our greens in perfect condition, meaning they always have decent speed. In addition to the on-course appeal, our facility also has a fantastic clubhouse with a brand new deck. After your round of golf, you'll find hot dogs, chips, candy, ice cream and the beverage of your choice. The Point Venture Golf Shop sells beer and wine. You may purchase these items at the turn or after your round, where you can then enjoy them on the deck as you listen to music or take in the big game on one of our plasma screens or 100'' projection TV. And if you're struggling with your game, our friendly, knowledgeable golf shop staff will be happy to talk with you as you wait for your clubs to be repaired or browse for new equipment.
