I was a 4 year letter winner at both St Rose High School in Belmar, NJ and Monmouth University in West Long Branch, NJ. I believe the way we as goal keepers have been trained over the years is flawed. All too often we are put through drill after drill, hammering home tec
hnique, without ever being put into real game situations. Of course technique and skill development is crucial; however, if you never take your training into live game situations, one is not fully prepared for the most important part of being a goalkeeper, success in the game. I have developed a cutting edge program that allows goalkeepers of all ages to develop the necessary skills they need to be prepared, as well as putting them into real game situations so they can see WHY we spent all that time hammering home skill work. Many goalkeepers can attest, there is a major difference between catching a high ball tossed out of a coaches hand and one whipped in off the corner spot.
