Second-Inning Spurt Lead Warriors Past Cambridge-South Dorchester Varsity Vikings

Warriors scored six runs in the second inning, which helped them defeat Cambridge-South Dorchester Varsity Vikings 11-5 on Wednesday. Kendall Rayfield was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Savannah Bishop drew a walk, scoring one run, Caroline Webster singled, scoring two runs, and McKenna Murray singled, scoring two runs.
A ground out by Webster put Warriors on the board in the bottom of the first.
A single by Allison Hahn extended the Warriors lead to 8-2 in the bottom of the third inning.
Addyson Holland started the game for Warriors. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and five runs (three earned) over seven innings, striking out 12 and walking five. Evelyn Windsor opened the game for Cambridge-South Dorchester Varsity Vikings. The starting pitcher gave up four hits and seven runs (six earned) over two innings, striking out one and walking five.
Warriors accumulated 11 hits in the game. Hahn, Bishop, Kylee Hickman, and Murray each collected two hits for Warriors. Webster and Murray were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in three runs for Warriors. Warriors had patience at the plate, tallying seven walks for the game. Oliva Skorobatsch and Kamryn Noble led the team with two free passes each.
Warriors welcome Washington High School Jaguars on Friday for their next game.
