PLAYOFF UPDATE:

Our Marvel Rivals team played today and was defeated by #1 seed Westville 0-2, who will be representing NE Oklahoma at State. We finished top 4 in the NE region. Our team consisted of Jackson Parker, Aaron Treat, Gavin Davis, Sean Smith, Carson Taylor, Garrett Bobst, and sub Sara Baker.

For our virtual playoff title, Fortnite Box Fights, Carson Taylor and Sean Smith won a hard fought match against Laverne in round 1, then lost to Heritage Hall in the quarterfinals.

Our Siege team is going to State! We will be representing the NE region of Oklahoma on December 15th at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO). Our team fought hard and came away with a 7-0 W over Westville and 7-3 W over Wagoner. I have to say, I've never had the privilege of coaching a team that plays so well together. Communication is a huge part of Esports, and this game in particular, and it is something I stress heavily throughout the season. With this group, it comes naturally. No matter the outcome in 2 weeks (We're bringing home Gold), I'm honored to have coached this team and look forward to future years.

Our team heading to State include Carson Taylor, Sean Smith, Mavric Huff, Bennet Rasavong, Maddox Rasavong, sub. Laine Dunigan, sub. Austin Cagle, and sub. Garrett Bobst. (All subs played at least 1 match throughout the season and are a huge part of our success). If you see these gentlemen during the next couple of weeks, congratulate them and wish them luck at State!

P.S. this marks 4 out of the 5 semesters of Pocola Esports existing in which we have sent a team to state in a title. 🤯

Fortnite Elim Race - Austin Cagle, Garrett Bobst, sub. Ty Jerrell - 5-2 record, tied for 3rd place out of 24 teams in the NE Region. The top 8 teams will compete. Winner moves on to the Final Four at State.

Marvel Rivals- Jackson Parker, Aaron Treat, Gavin Davis, Garrett Bobst, Sean Smith, Carson Taylor, sub. Sara Baker, sub. Bennet Rasavong - 4-3 record, 4th place out of 12 teams in the NE Region. Top 4 will compete, with the winner moving on to rep NE Region at State.

Siege X - Carson Taylor, Sean Smith, Laine Dunigan, Bennet Rasavong, Mavric Huff, sub. Austin Cagle - 5-2 record, 3rd place out of 16 teams in NE Region. Top 4 will compete, with the winner moving on to rep NE Region at State.

We also had a team qualify for Virtual playoffs on December 2nd for Fortnite Box Fights! Carson Taylor and Sean Smith finished with a 6-1 record and are seeded 5th place out of 79 teams across the State! The top 16 teams will compete for a State Championship that day!

Im really proud of how hard these students have fought all semester to get to this point! Thank you to all who have supported our program in one way or another. It means the world to us knowing we have supportive community in Pocola. We won 4 total state championships in the 2024-25 school year. Our goal this year is to beat that amount!

Today Pocola Esports took part in an Oklahoma Scholastic Esports tournament for College Football 26 (CFB) and NBA 2K26 (2K). We had 6 students compete in CFB (Carson Taylor, Aaron Treat, Ty Jerrell, Braylen Henry, Austin Cagle, and Ja Posey). We also had 4 compete in 2K (Antwoine Thomas, Ty Jerrell, Austin Cagle, and Ja Posey). Unfortunately, we came up 1 game short in both titles, with Carson and Antwoine both being knocked out in the semifinal round of their respective titles. The guys fought hard all day against some stiff competition, and I couldn't be more proud of them. Below are the results of each tournament.

Now we start gearing up for our last monthly tournament, which is this Saturday! We have the chance to make playoffs in several titles, but it all rides on having success this weekend!

We completed our October schedule today, and have 1 month of matches left before playoffs! We played some highly competitive matches today, with 1 match of Marvel Rivals lasting 1.5 hours! Here are the month's results and current records:

Fortnite Elimination Race Team 1: Siler Robinette, Malachi Wallace - 1-1, beating Commerce 2-0 and losing to Oilton 1-2. Their overall record is 1-4

Fortnite Elimination Race Team 2: Garrett Bobst, Austin Cagle - 1-1, beating Webber's Falls 2-0 and losing to Prague 0-2. Their overall record is 4-1

Fortnite Box Fights: Sean Smith, Carson Taylor - 2-0, beating Riverside Indian School and Roff 2-0. Their overall record is 4-1

Marvel Rivals: Sean Smith, Carson Taylor, Garrett Bobst, Aaron Treat, Gavin Davis, Jackson Parker, and sub Sara Baker. After having to take 3 Ls last month due to schedule conflicts, they battled hard and ended the month 2-0, with wins against Beggs and Prague. Their overall record is 2-3. Due to a highly competitive league, they are still very much in the race for playoffs!

Rainbow Six: Siege: Laine Dunigan, Sean Smith, Carson Taylor, Mavric Huff, Austin Cagle, and sub Garrett Bobst - 1-0 (had a week 4 Bye). We also had to take a couple of Ls last month due to schedule conflicts, but won our monthly match against Commerce 7-0. Overall record is 2-2.

I'm extremely proud of this team and can't wait to see how we finish next month! November 17th is our Sports Titles tournament day, and we have several students competing. They've been grinding all semester, and I can't wait to see how we perform. Students working towards that day are Ty Jerrell, Braylen Henry, Antwoine Thomas, Ja Posey, Austin Cagle, and Carson Taylor.

Our first month of matches came to a close this past Saturday with some success across various titles. Unfortunately, some schedule conflicts kept some of our players out Saturday and we had to take some Ls, but we will battle back and get ourselves in a position to compete for State!

Our Fortnite Elimination Race (2v2), featuring Garrett Bobst and Ben Foster, ended the month 3-0!

Fortnite Box Fights (2v2), featuring Carson Taylor and Sean Smith, went 2-1.

Siege X (5v5), featuring Carson Taylor, Sean Smith, Ben Foster, Laine Dunigan, and Mavric Huff, went 1-2 due to schedule conflicts keeping us out of Saturday play.

Marvel Rivals (6v6) could not compete Saturday and currently sit 0-3.
