Ok, business has been epically bad for the fi****ms industry this year. I have two personal friends that own gun stores, one is closing one of his, the other is in dire financial straits. Our store we are better positioned. We own the building. We own the inventory. Our store has been in the community since the 1970’s. We don’t have everything but we can get it and have it in 1 to 3 business days.
But I degress….. time for some fun! Hunting season is coming upon us quickly. Temperatures are starting to drop, 30 degrees from 2 weeks ago. Old man winter is sneaking up on us. SO a challenge!!!! This is a contest for anyone that sees this post, not just our customers!!!
It is a $200.00 winter camping challenge. Rules are simple:
1. Safety is primary, zero risk taking. This means no camping under a tree in a thermal blanket. Yes you know who I am talking to.
2. You can only participate with gear and food you buy for the challenge for $200.00 or less.
3. My camp is the standard and the competition begins when it snows here in SE Idaho. I will post a video of the shopping and the setup and camp. I am NOT a competitor, just setting the bar.
4. You are limited to shopping at Wallmart, Fred Myer, Target, or Buckees. You are not limited to one store. You may combine stores. BUT you can only spend $200.00 total.
5. You MUST have a campfire. Which means you buy wood.
6. You must cook at least 2 meals. You must buy the food in the $200.00
7. You must spend 2 nights.
8. You may use a campground
9. You may go BLM
10. You may use Campground fixtures, fire rings and tables.
11. You must take out what you bring in.
12. You will respond to this challenge post with a picture of your receipt and a picture of your camp.
13. The temperature at any one point must be 30 degrees or lower. You may use a previously owned thermometer for this. Completing the challenge in rain awards 1 point. Completing the challenge in any snowstorm awards 2 points. No extra points for existing snow.
Voting: people participating will vote on your set up. No one will criticize. Doing so eliminates you.
Award!!! The challenge ends on December 10th. The first place winner will receive $300, 2nd place $200, and 3rd place a wood plank with the words: I tried and froze my butt off. This will be engraved by me on our 100w laser.
