Brenda Freeman Pilates

Brenda Freeman Pilates A Home Based Classical Pilates Studio utilizing all Gratz equipment. As a result from the surgery, she also suffered low back pain and an abdominal separation.

Brenda Freeman is a soul led Pilates Instructor and Somatic Sexological Bodyworker that guides others from 20 years of education, teaching, self-practice and her own life’s journey. She shows up to all of her sessions and workshops with a vast array of knowledge of the human body, compassion, empathy and authenticity in her rawness. She has found a beautiful connection between Pilates & spirituali

ty to fulfill a need for all humans. She invites her clients & students to tap into the soul-mind-body connection and encourages them to step outside of their usual comfort zones to get more comfortable with who they genuinely are on another level. Brenda discovered Pilates in 2000 after a difficult delivery when her first son was born via C-section. After her second son was born V-BAC (vaginal birth after cesarean), Brenda again used the Pilates system to heal the muscles of the abdomen and pelvic floor. As someone who has been physically active and in pursuit of excellence her entire life, Pilates was the key to her healing success. Like many of us after surgery, she was not taught by doctors on how to heal & strengthen her pelvic floor, so she took matters into her own hands by educating herself & applying the Pilates practice into her recovery. Brenda began her Classical Pilates training in 2004. She has studied and trained with some of the best 2nd Generation teachers in the field. Her most recent certification was with Chris Robinson of S6 Fitness in San Diego who specializes in Pilates and sports. She has since trained professional athletes in the Detroit Metro area and beyond who come to her to prevent injury, heal from injury and deepen their body awareness. Her Pilates teaching led her to somatic s*x education, which is how her P***y Power Course was born. As a Certified Somatic Sexological Bodyworker , she helps people connect to the musculature and energetics of their pelvic floor. She encourages people to honor their bodies and welcome pleasure. By being more aware of our own pleasure system, we are able to further connect to the rest of our body and create a relationship between our physical anatomy and pleasure anatomy. Brenda’s P***y Power Course holds a safe space for intimately learning about and taking ownership of our bodies. Brenda’s teaching speaks to her knowledge of the human experience. She has worked with a variety of demographics from leading preschool movement classes to working in hospitals with the elderly. She has taught pre- and post-natal Pilates classes and worked with clients to continue their healing after Physical Therapy. Having also taught at Central Michigan University, she spearheaded, wrote, and implemented the Pilates Mat Program that is still used today. Brenda uses original Gratz equipment and teaches the Authentic Pilates Method as developed by Joseph Pilates in its original form. In 2018, the Authentic Pilates Union (APU) recognized Brenda for her teaching and her preservation of the method by electing her to its Board of Directors.
