Explore South Shore: Enjoy a long walk this weekend on Cohasset’s Whitney Spur Rail Trail! The 1.5-mile, stroller-friendly pathway connects the Cohasset MBTA station with Whitney and Thayer Woods, Turkey Hill, and the 3500 acres of Wompatuck State Park. It passes through two watersheds – the Great Swamp (Hingham Bay watershed), and the Aaron River (Gulf River watershed). Designated free parking at the Cohasset MBTA station, 110 Chief Justice Cushing Highway (Route 3A), Cohasset.

Thanks to Farmer Dave, IndieFerm has a fermented treat for you at today's Farmers Market - Kohlrabi Kraut with Garlic Scapes and Carrots.

Fermented kohlrabi combines the naturally high fiber and antioxidant profile of a cruciferous vegetable with gut-friendly probiotics from lacto-fermentation resulting in better digestion and nutrient absorption. Garlic scapes are a great source of manganese, vitamins B6 and C, selenium, allicin, and polyphenols.

Stop by the Farmers Market to taste a sample of the kohlrabi kraut and find out more about fermented foods. We'll have jars available for purchase if you want to take some home with you.
