The Elkins family has asked for help from the racquetball community in the search for their son Dane Elkins. As you may have heard, Dane went missing on December 20, 2020, in Southern California.

We hope that everyone is safe and healthy during these unprecedented times.

If anyone needs help from your racquetball family please reach out and let us know how we can help.

As gyms reopen and we start returning to both the indoor and outdoor courts, please do it carefully keeping in mind any health guidelines and recommendations. USA Racquetball published a few "consideration" on their website: https://www.teamusa.org/usa-racquetball/about/resources-and-forms

Also realize when you feel comfortable returning to the courts, if it's been a little while since you've played you might need to ease back into playing. Take care of your body so that you can continue playing to fill the void that has been missing.

Lastly, know that regional tournament directors are trying to figure out what the 2020-21 season looks like and as things develop, information will be provided.

Thanks to Jim for providing the information with the City of Saugus where I reported this disgraceful situation..

I received a call today from Saugus Inspectional Services to report that they went by the club today and in fact, LA Fitness was doing work on the handicap toilet today... hopefully, they will complete the work by next week
(it should be a STAT, MANDATORY issue but, then again... so we shall see

But the reason I spoke up was because I care and I am a social worker and advocacy is what I do best. Let's see if other health issues are addressed..

Hey everyone I wanted to ask that if you a member of LA Fitness SAUGUS, please complain about the handicapped bathroom in the ladies room.. I guess it’s been out of service for months, no great surprise if you are a member of the SAUGUS club... aside from all the other issues, this is unacceptable.. a staff member told me “well, it’s corporate and are never in a hurry but the do their best” .. really.. again, ahhh no they don’t... they have more staff to push memberships but no but the amazing Kathy cares really.. this is a disgrace.. I posted it on the LA FITNESS SAUGUS FB page.. we’ll see how long it stays.. it’s past talking with the staff..

by the way, this is Joanne Pomodoro - I am speaking as a member of LA Fitness ... not sure why I came up as Mass Racquetball Association..

this is Lola Marcus, she was the best in our game - we lost a special part of racquetball - we will miss Lola for sure...

So sad to report that the racquetball community has lost one of the best. Lola Markus passed away yesterday on her 88th birthday. Lola was an inspiration to generations of racquetball players and will be missed by her many friends in and out of the racquetball community. Our condolences to all her family and friends. RIP Lola and Ray.
