Driver Spotlight: Drew Davis

While some fans may think of Derek Davis or son Brenden when they hear, “champion,” they’ll have to add another of the Davis Family Racing dynasty names to their list—Drew.
Someone finally dethroned Derek Davis’ streak atop the Front Wheel Drives after David Keuhs—your 2022 Plymouth Motor Speedway Front Wheel Drive Champion (first time)—came so close last year, but the championship banner was kept in the same garage.
Drew accomplished the feat this season through a streak of consistency that few others were able to replicate in the tough group of drivers. The 81 was always near the front if he wasn’t leading the pack, and his average finishing position according to the Davis Family Racing page was 1.9. Drew also collected the big $1,244 check on July 23rd when he won the Jarrett Buchino Memorial Feature event.
While the Davis Dynasty continues its run atop the Front Wheel Drive division at South Bend, there’s something Drew can add to his introduction: The Champ is Here.
Based on the talent that the Davis garage boasts, and another off-season for the Mad Scientist to go to work, fans may see the Davis group chasing more checkers next season as they look to keep their grip on the short track racing scene.
