Cadet/Junior Men’s Foil - - Fencing Center of Chicago RYC & RJCC - Libertyville, IL | September 4-6, 2026

Shoutout to Alex Lu for representing PA2FA this weekend in Cadet and Junior Men’s Foil!

As our only fencer competing, Alex showed up, put in the work, and represented the club well

Cadet Men’s Foil
Alex Lu: 5TH PLACE
Pools: Went 6-0 and seeded #1 after pools
DE Run: Bye in the 64. Strong wins 15-1 and 15-3 to advance to the Top 8
Top 8: Fenced a close 15-12 bout to Tan, who went on to win Silver

Solid performance for First-year Cadet

Junior Men’s Foil
Alex Lu: 11TH PLACE
Pools: 4-1
DE Run: Bye in the 64. Followed by 15-6 win
Top 16: Fenced a tight bout to Hickey in the round of 16

Doubling up Cadet + Junior in the same weekend is no easy task. Alex handled it with focus, endurance, and heart.

Junior Women’s Foil - - Fencing Center of Chicago RYC & RJCC - Libertyville, IL | September 4-6, 2026

SILVER FOR PARKER HARRIS! 🥈
BRONZE FOR HANSIKA AADHI! 🥉

PA2FA sent 3 to Junior Women’s Foil — including a Cadet and a Y14 moving up to challenge themselves.

Pools:
Seerat Dhaliwal 5-0 Y14 competing up 2 age groups
Parker Harris 5-1 Cadet competing up
Hansika Aadhi 3-3

DE run:
Seerat started with a bye. Parker and Hansika opened with dominant 15-1 wins.
Seerat bowed out to Zoldan and finished 10th.
Parker punched into the top 8 with a win over Swope. Hansika joined her there after beating Sun.
Semifinals brought Parker and Hansika together. Parker took the 15-13 win, locking in Bronze for Hansika. Parker went on to the final in a nail-biter, falling 15-14 to Horowitz and taking Silver.

Hansika Aadhi - 3rd, Bronze Medal 🥉
Seerat Dhaliwal - 10th

GOLD FOR PARKER HARRIS! 🥇
BRONZE FOR SEERAT DHALIWAL! 🥉

PA2FA had 3 fencers in Cadet Women’s Foil, and they made some noise ; with 2 Y14s testing themselves up an age group.

Pools set the tone:
Parker Harris 6-0
Seerat Dhaliwal 4-1 Y14 competing up
Madison H 2-3 Y14 competing up

Direct Eliminations:

All 3 earned byes into the table of 32.
Madison had a heartbreaker, falling 15-14 and finishing 23rd.
Seerat and Parker rolled through round 1 with 15-2 and 15-3 wins to reach the top 8.
From there, Seerat edged Samyuta 10-9 and Parker topped Sun 15-12 to advance.
The PA2FA teammates then met in the semis, with Parker taking it 15-13. That put Seerat on the podium with Bronze, and Parker into the final where she defeated Shuli Horowitz 15-9 to claim Gold.

Madison H - 23rd

This group showed out. Parker on top with gold, Seerat on the podium with bronze, and Madison gaining important experience competing up.

Y14 Women’s Epee - Fencing Center of Chicago RYC & RJCC - Libertyville, IL | September 4-6, 2026

GOLD FOR KOKO EDGAR 🥇 AND EARNS HER "C" RATING

Edgar Koko had a weekend to remember in Libertyville.

In Y14 Women’s Epee, Edgar went 4-1 in pools. Despite a strong pool performance, she didn’t receive a bye — but that didn’t slow her down. She dominated the DEs:

15-3 in her first DE
15-7 in her second
15-6 in her third
Semifinal: 15-6 win over Negrut
Final: 11-11 win vs. CAI to take GOLD 🏆

That final was all heart. 11-11 in overtime, and Koko came out on top to earn her C rating.

Also Competing: Junior & Cadet – 2 and 1 Age Groups Up

Koko challenged herself against older fencers and showed huge growth.

Junior Women’s Epee: 4-6 in pools. Finished 19th after a close 13-15 DE defeat to reach the top 16.
Cadet Women’s Epee: 4-5 in pools. Finished 11th after a tight 12-15 DE defeat to reach the top 8 against the girl who took silver.

Congrats Koko! This C rating is just the beginning

In Y12 Women’s Epee, first-year Y12 Lillibelle Briones got her baptism of fire at her first Y12 Regional. She gained valuable experience and finished 14th; great start to her Y12 journey.

SILVER FOR BEATRICE LALONDE! 🥈

We had 3 PA2FA fencers competing in Y12 Women’s Foil and they all had strong tournaments.

Pools:
Beatrice Lalonde 6-0
Sloane Ganocy 4-2
Rosa Tingstad 3-2

DEs:
Beatrice earned a bye into the round of 32.
Sloane and Rosa both won their first DE. Rosa was stopped in her second DE and finished 11th.

Both Beatrice and Sloane advanced to the top 8.
Sloane finished 8th after fencing eventual gold medalist Kim.
Beatrice kept rolling with a 15-10 win in the top 8 and a 15-11 win over Jones to reach the Final, where she fenced Kim and earned Silver.

PA2FA Takes Gold + Bronze at The Duelist Senior Mixed Foil, August 29, 2026

PA2FA came out swinging at The Duelist with Gold for Tommy Ashida and a Bronze for first-year Cadet Alex Lu!

We entered 21 fencers: 6 women and 15 men: 4 Seniors, 4 Juniors, 6 Cadets, and 7 Y14.

Pools
Tommy, Alex, and Ian K dominated pools and won all their bouts. Ian L, Hansika, Parker, and Seerat dropped just one bout each. The rest of our squad had either 2 or more losses, but every PA2FA fencer advanced to DEs.

DEs
Top pool performers earned byes into round 2. Several of our fencers faced each other in the first DE, which narrowed the field. We had 15 fencers in the top 32, and 8 into the top 16: Natalie, Ian L, Parker, Ian K, Alex, Seerat, Hansika, and Tommy

Top 16 highlights:
Y14 Natalie fell to Zheng, who went on to take Silver
Ian L lost to Kue
Y14 Seerat was edged out by teammate Cadet Alex, who won bronze
Hansika lost a tough bout to Edwards
Tommy beat Brougam
Parker beat Coach Ian K, then lost to Joseph in the top 8

Finals
In the semis, Ashida defeated Cadet Alex in a tight bout. Tommy then capped the day by defeating Zheng in the finals to win Gold. Alex took Bronze.

A special shoutout to the PA2FA women who made the top 16 including Junior Aadhi, Y14 Dhaliwal and Y14 Huang; with Cadet Parker leading the pack by placing 8th

🥈 Rowan Wenger Takes Silver at Y14 Mixed Foil - Duelist, Belleville, August 29, 2026

PA2FA brought 8 fencers to the first Y14 Mixed Foil event of the season and came away with 7 in the Top 16 and 3 in the Top 8!

A shout out to Eun-Hae, Kaiwen, and Madison on their first Y14 Mixed Foil Event and to Zora and Beatrice competing up from Y12!

Pools:

Great pool results all around, plus important first-Y14 experience for several of our fencers.

Rowan Wenger: 4-1

Beatrice Lalonde: 3-2 with two 4-5 losses
Lucas Xue: 2-3
Eun-Hae Lee: 1-4

Direct Elimination:

Strong pools earned byes for Madison, Zora, and Rowan into round 2 of DEs. Lucas, Albert, Beatrice and Eun-Hae battled through their first DE. Madison fell in a tough bout to Jason Xu and Beatrice was edged out by Zhang. Rowan prevailed against teammate Zora, then beat Xu to punch his ticket to the final, and came up just short 14-15 to Jiao.

Trick or Retreat ROC / RJCC - Edison, NJ | Aug 22-23, 2026

Three of our fencers competed: Dorathy Tan, Natalie Huang, and Parker Harris.

Cadet Women’s Foil
All three fenced well in pools. Parker and Dorathy went 5-1, Natalie 4-1 fencing up an age group.
All made the top 16.
- Parker Harris - 7th
- Dorathy Tan - 10th
- Natalie Huang - 13th

Division 1A Women’s Foil
Pool results: Parker 4-1, Dorathy 3-1, Natalie 2-3.
Dorathy and Natalie met in the first DE, with Dorathy advancing. Parker then fenced Dorathy in the next round and won to move into the top 8. From there Parker defeated Zeldin to make top 4, and beat Feng to reach the finals, where she was defeated by Shen.

PA2FA is proud to announce that the United States Fencing Coaches Association has bestowed the title of Maître d’Armes, Emeritus upon Maestro Gil Pezza.

The “Emeritus” honor recognizes more than 45 years of outstanding service, enduring commitment, and exceptional contributions to the USFCA and to the broader fencing community.

Maestro Pezza’s contributions extend beyond developing and coaching champions as a National Coach, NCAA Varsity Coach, or Club Coach. His dedication to the growth and sustainability of the coaching community has been both generous and enduring.

Especially appreciated are his contributions to the USFCA as past President, past Chair of the CAB, and current member of the Bylaws Committee. Moreover, Maestro Pezza’s continuing role as a lecturer and presenter at numerous USFCA Clinics has helped educate and inspire generations of coaches, advancing the profession and elevating standards nationwide.

His impact extends far beyond competitive results; he has shaped the character, discipline, and aspirations of countless athletes and colleagues. The legacy he leaves is one of excellence, mentorship, and service.
