Formed by Team Principal John Potter, Magnus Racing is one of the top GT teams in sportscar today. As a team comprised of experienced professionals throughout a number of industries, Magnus Racing provides a unique blend of fresh thinking with professional experience to make the team one of the top teams in the Pirelli World Challenge. Featuring championship-winning drivers, engineering staff, and executive hospitality, the team has won some of the biggest races in the sport, yet has still managed to maintain a family atmosphere that is often absent at the top levels of motorsport. Based out of Salt Lake City, Utah, the team is founded on three principals:

1. Creating a competitive team capable of winning races and championships.

3. Bringing "the fun" back in motorsports while maintaining professionalism.

Magnus Racing Finishes IMSA Season at Petit Le Mans

BRASELTON, Ga. (Oct. 1, 2026) – The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship wraps up with Motul Petit Le Mans on Saturday, October 3rd, at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. John Potter, Spencer Pumpelly and Mario Farnbacher are all back behind the wheel of the No. 44 Virtual Energy Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo.

Magnus Racing’s Aston Martin last raced in the Six Hours of the Glen in June at Watkins Glen International. The team’s race was cut short, however, when Pumpelly got trapped in someone else’s crash with nowhere to go. The car was heavily damaged and could not be fixed in the time to return to the race, but it’s all back together now for the IMSA season finale.

“I’m really proud of the work the team has put in to get this car ready for Petit Le Mans,” Potter said. “I know we’re going to unload a car that’s fast straight off the truck. Daytona was bittersweet and Watkins Glen was just bitter, so it’s time for us to wrap up 2026 with the win we know we’re capable of.”

Potter is joined in the driver’s seat once again by Pumpelly and Farnbacher. At Watkins Glen the team celebrated Pumpelly’s 250th IMSA start, but this week the team celebrates Farnbacher’s 100th IMSA start. Every start by John Potter is celebrated.

Cars hit the track on Thursday, October 1, with three practice sessions. Qualifying takes place Friday, October 2 and 10 hours of racing commences at 12:10pm ET Saturday, October 3. Live coverage on NBC runs from 12pm ET to 3pm ET with continuing coverage available on Peacock.

DoorDash delivery is nice and all, but it’s not how you want to get your car back to the paddock. Our Six Hours of the Glen has come to an early end after getting caught up in someone else’s crash. Shame to end Spencer’s 250th, Mario’s 100th and John’s 168th IMSA start like this.
