Pulsar USA announce the release of Firmware 4.1.0 for Thermion 2 LRF 50 and 60 series riflescopes, bringing powerful new features, smarter functionality, and an enhanced user experience. Key highlights

Recoil and Shadow Recording: capture every critical moment automatically.
Improved LRF performance: fast, stable distance readings without interrupting your view.
New Green palette and redesigned color mode workflow: easier selection and better visual adaptability.
Expanded User Settings: more personalization and extended functionality.
Updated Ballistics calculator and Zeroing widget: added measurement units for greater accuracy.
Auto Display Off: automatically turns the display off based on riflescope position.
Increased WiFi settings timeout: more time to configure wireless connection.
USB-C video output: direct connection for easy viewing and footage transfer.
Enhanced user interface: smoother navigation and improved overall usability.

Effortless shot capture — before and after it happens
With Recoil Recording, the riflescope automatically starts recording when recoil is detected. Each file includes the moments leading up to the shot and the action that follows, preserving the full sequence without manual input.

Shadow Recording ensures you’re covered even if you press Record too late. The device continuously buffers footage and saves the seconds before activation, so critical moments are never lost.

Smoother, uninterrupted ranging
The updated laser rangefinder algorithm provides rapid distance readings without disrupting your image. No forced magnification changes, no Picture-in-Picture mode appearing — just fast, stable measurements while you stay locked on target.

Faster access. Smarter customization.
Color palette management has been redesigned for quicker switching and cleaner navigation. You can assign shortcuts and disable unused palettes for streamlined operation. A new Green palette expands viewing flexibility across varying conditions.

User Mode evolves into expanded User Settings, offering more control and functionality.

Greater ballistic clarity
The Ballistics calculator and Zeroing widget now include additional measurement units and clearer on-screen data, offering better compatibility with different shooting setups and environmental preferences.

Added refinements for everyday use
Auto Display Off turns the screen off automatically when the riflescope is tilted away from the shooting position, supporting discretion and power efficiency.
USB-C video output enables direct connection to compatible devices for viewing or transferring footage without special adapters.
Increased WiFi Settings Timeout – Provides more time for smooth initial setup and adjustments
Enhanced user interface delivers improved navigation and a more polished visual experience.
Firmware 4.1.0 further strengthens the Thermion 2 LRF platform, combining intelligent automation, precision performance, and refined usability into one cohesive upgrade.

This new update is available via the Stream Vision 2 app and if you have any further questions in regards to the update please don't hesitate to give me a shout and I'll be happy to help!

I decided to go out last night for a couple of sets. On the first set, I started off with a "group yip howl". I thought I could hear some coyotes barking with the sound of the call. I pointed in the direction I thought the barking was coming from to my hunting partner. He tells me that he sees two coyotes. What he failed to mention was they were running at us barking with their tails wagging. These coyotes were certainly protecting their territory. I was able to pick up my tripod and get turned to the direction they were coming from before they ran the call over. I got one coyote to stop. We then had to do a little shooting, but they both got the good news.

I kept these two video's separate. These two coyotes tried to sneak up behind us and steal our Can-Am UTV. They did end up surprising us and showing up at the call. It's very dark out there and in the heat of the hunt make sure you know where your hunting partner is. In one of the videos you will see video of the sky. It was me lifting my tripod up to point my gun up so I didn't muzzle sweep my hunting partner. I was still able to get on the coyotes and we both made good shots on running coyotes. Remember to be safe and have fun when you're out there hunting.

After getting 23 inches of snow and 40 MPH winds on March 14 and 15, I decided to make a quick trip to North Dakota to hunt coyotes. It was a good trip, had nice weather, and no snow on the ground. Yes, I am the person who likes to hunt at night on bare ground. It's easier hide in the dark background and it's quieter walking.

The snow geese were migrating through the area I was hunting. I learned they can be a pain in the ass! In case you didn't know, snow geese will come to a coyote pup distress call in the middle of the night. Many times I had snow geese over the top of me squawking.

While I was out scouting during the day for spots to hunt, I came across a racoon who failed electrical safety class!

Back in the shop today catching up. I will be placing an order with MDT Sporting Goods today if anyone needs anything.

Got a call on how hunting was going. It has been unpredictable! The dogs out there right now are very educated. Some circle way down wind from the call, and the next ones run right in with the wind. I even had one sleeping next to where I put the call out. Had to wake him up so he would stand up to get the good news.

As for suppressor approvals, Form 4 individuals are coming back in about a week, Form 4 Trusts without the 24 month exception about 3 weeks.

We just got a bunch of Silencerco Sparrows in stock if your interest in a good rimfire can.

Here are a few videos from the weekend. Coyotes are very active and responding well to the call.

Happy Valentine's Day! These two lovers wanted to fornicate right in front of us. I wasn’t going to let that happen.
