Former Stevens Point High School Curler and 2026 USA Curling Mixed Doubles National Champion, Rachel Kawleski, is skipping a team in a charity bonspiel this weekend to benefit Lupus research and awareness.

The online auction is now available. Rachel has made and donated a cornbroom. It is available in the auction along with many other fantastic items. We are sharing a link below if you wish to check out the auction or are interested in donating towards the efforts of the Lupus Research Foundation.

Congratulations Lukasz!

YOUTH APPRENTICE OF THE WEEK:
Lukasz Dobbs is a Temporary Service Assistant Apprentice at Sentry. "I work with a team. I help code full stack, as well as help with testing, and documentation. I get to participate in team meetings, and give demos on what I've worked on. I am currently writing an automated testing suite to help with regression testing and to take some of the work off of other team members hands." The part of the job he enjoys most are the times he gets to hang out and just talk, like during lunches or engagement events,. He also likes writing code. "I've always enjoyed making and building things, and code is the medium in which I get to use that passion."

Lukasz has completed AP Computer Science and Early College Credit Program (ECCP) UWSP CIS 120, 210, and 230 courses. If you are interested in applying for Youth Apprenticeship, Lukasz said to do it! "It's incredibly enjoyable and you get to meet new people. It's a great entry level job for our age, and you gain valuable work experience."
Lukasz will continue his studies at UWSP this fall while continuing to work with IT in the Sentry Co-op. The future is bright for this SPASH Youth Apprentice!

Last evening we were able to award scholarships. This year the Stevens Point Curling Club has renamed the scholarship program in memory of one of our original team members.

The 2026 recipients of the Stevens Point Curling Club Steven Kawleski Memorial Scholarship are:

Oliver Peterson, will be attending UW - Eau Claire, pre-dentistry

Ian Ekstrand, attending Syracuse University, biology and neuroscience

Lukasz Dobbs, attending UW - Stevens Point, computer information systems, application development and artificial intelligence

Congratulations, we hope you will stop in to see us next season when you can. Look forward to following your USA Curling College National teams.

On the heels of a successful 2026 Games in Cortina, USA Curling has tapped Brad Gushue to further elevate high performance efforts in the next quadrennial and on the road to the 2034 home Games in Salt Lake City.

Registration closing soon for the Junior Curling Camp at the TC Curling Club. We will stop registrations at 5 full sheets of junior curlers.

Great place to network, work on delivery mechanics, sweeping mechanics, mindset, communication, line of delivery, strategy, and release.

Junior curlers aren't strangers, they are just friends you haven't met yet.

Coached by nationally decorated curlers.

Off ice parent Q&As and workshops being planned as well.

It was a High school varsity mixed vs coaches for the Monday night 3rd event final. A close game, both teams shot well. Hailey Zvara made a quad , but the coaches prevailed with the win in the end forcing the youth to draw the pin and came up a bit short this year.

Last year they got us on the1st event semifinals with a shootout. Next year let's meet in the 1st event final.

Good luck to Ian at Syracuse, we will miss you.
