Good morning, Everyone!
I'm getting a lot requests for what exercises are the best for someone over 40 years of age.

You have to first ask yourself what you're looking for.
-Why do you want to workout?
-What do you want to accomplish from this and how much time are you giving yourself to achieve these goals?

These questions are very important because you could be doing the wrong workouts and wasting your time .

Let me give you my goals.
What I'm looking for is to maintain my muscular build. I want to accomplish this because I don't want to look like an average 51 year old man. I want to appear athletic and youthful. I'm going to give myself 6 months.

The biggest mistake people make in making goals is they don't write them down . When you think it, ink it!!

Second, put game plan together or an idea of how to get to that goal.

Third, give yourself realistic goals that is simple and easy to follow.

THEN JUST DO IT

Good morning, Everyone! It's 4 days until Christmas.
Q&A for today is, "What is my target hart heart rate?"
Training in your target hear rate is a great way to maximize cardio to burn fat.

Take 220 minus your age
Take that number x 65%, if you are a beginner
Or
×75% If you're athletic and you're a regular at working out.
The number you get is your beats per minute as your target heart rate.
Divide that number by 4 and you only have to count for :15 seconds.

Example: 220-54 years old=166x.65 (beginner)=107.9 (beats per minute) Divide by 4=26.9 beats every :15 seconds.

Happy hump day, Everyone. It's 6 days until Christmas. The Q&A for the day is, "How do I get abs or a flat stomach?"

I can 'flat' out tell you, it's not doing a thousand crunches and other abdominal exercises every day. Abdominal exercises will help you get stronger and build endurance. Accomplishing great abs and a flat stomach is all performed in the kitchen. Follow a great diet, cardio and work out consistently are the main ingredients in accomplishing this goal.
Stay away from fads and gimmicks such as pills and lotions to burn stomach fat. You will find yourself disappointed and ripped off.

Good morning, Everyone! It's 7 days until Christmas. I get this Q&A from women all the time, "If I lift weights, will I get big muscles?"

No, you will not, unless you have a significant amount of high testosterone in your body.
Women sometimes are afraid or make excuses not to weight train because they are convinced by their friends, who don't workout, if they lift weights they will look masculine and muscular.
Weight bearing exercises are so important to men women especially as we age.

I will keep it as simple as possible

First, you have to understand that your bones are designed to function. Your bones are your Endo skeletal to hold your body up. Another function for your bones is it produces blood cells through the bone marrow. Having strong bones is very important, in order to have strong bones you need strong muscles, in order to have strong muscles you need weight bearing exercises.

Absolutely! The best workouts are performed in 30 minutes or less. High intensity training with weights , machines and cardio can burn more calories than an average 1 hour + workout.

Hey Everyone! It's 10 days before Christmas. Can you believe it? Today's Q&A from the list of questions I receive is: "Should I stretch before or after a workout?" I always recommend to elevate the heart rate before working out with some sort of simple exercise. This will allow your body to get warm and allow the muscles to longate so they are ready for vigorous exercise and are then able to reach their full potential. Stretching after a workout is always a good idea. It helps build quality muscle. Message me with any questions.

TGIF and it's 11 days until Christmas. The Q&A today is what cardio should I do. That can be a confusing question. There are so many ways to do cardio. My favorite is the recumbent bike because it's easy on my knees.

The best way to do cardio is do something you like or think you might like. Get on a cardio machine and go. Don't worry about the time , intensity or the duration. Enjoy the down time for yourself. Happy Friday, Everyone.
