Meet The Team: Dr Lenny Lesser.

We SHOULD call him Dr Lesser, but he's really Lenny... a long time team member who keeps looking for new challenges and ways to express himself. He's a huge asset to the team, from his contributions to club meetings over the years, to racing a variety of events throughout the year. He's on our Bovine list in October, and that's him rolling thru the Dolomites in Italy fully kitted out. The other shot is from the NCNCA Annual Awards a few years back...thanks for being part of the team Dr Lesser! :)

Team Wins Rock!

Having been around for more than 50 years, we've won a lot of races! On Thursdays we extend our thanks to current and past riders landing on the top step of the podium, this week we're looking at a few more of our favorites.

Pescadero must be one of the greatest road races in the country. It has a bit of everything - short climbs, narrow roads, high speed descents and a tough ascent to the finish on Haskins Grade. We've pulled off the "W" a few times including Helen Casabona pulling on a special winners jersey in 2018, putting 2 on the podium in the 2023 M50+ 3/4 with Steve Clifton and Steve Idhe. Mr Clifton would win again in 2025, and James Rainbow took the win way back in 2016 M35+ 3/4. We love Pesky!

We feel a bit like proud parents with this one...

Team Legend and all around bada** rider Norma Hilton opted for a literal last minute run to Japan to race Masters Worlds. She won both RR and TT at Masters Nats, earning an automatic invite to Worlds...and chose to go for the experience.

THEN she pulls two 4th place finishes! Didn't train for it really, just opted to go and BOOM near podiums. Talk about off-the-couch! Norma described some tough wind and cold weather at the top of the RR climb, but on she pedaled, right into our hearts and getting mad props for the audacity of it all!

Norma is so PV!

September Goals?

Comment below on your September Goals! The "season" is nearly over, but that doesn't mean the training stops...so what'cha gonna do?

You can come ride with us on September 19th! We'll be doing an Endurance ride starting from Woodside Town Hall. Route options from 1.5 - 3.5 hours and pace is "aerobic endurance" for the first 90min at least.

Gotta be honest...this 2018 Cyclocross Kit is one of my favorites! Classic team colors accentuated with the black upper chest and shoulders...I still love to wear it, especially the Castelli Cycling winter jacket version! Warm and toasty and stylish! :)

Great Race Wins!

Part 2 in our series looking at some of the special WINS we've taken as a team. Last week was the speed and fury of the San Rafael Criterium, this week we're going to the opposite end of the spectrum - STAGE RACING! Specifically The Chico Stage Race, an annual rite of passage for up-and-coming riders that, sadly, has gone dark the last few years. We hope it comes back so we're paying homage to our

3 Straight General Classification Wins! Coach Matt McNamara ranks it in his top 10 all time accomplishments to see each squad rally around the jersey and defend it thru the weekend. "It's just really cool!"

Bear with while we recount the accomplishments of Mark Pietrofesa, Lanier Benkard, and Brian Kellison. Each of them won it in the Time Trial - like most riders most years - but they also benefitted from solid teamwork to keep breaks in check in the Road Race, and keep 'em safe in one of the best criteriums in NorCal. 2017, 2018 and 2019 may well mark the high point of the last 10 years as a team. These wins in particular resonate as amongst our proudest simply because the team showed up every year, in different categories, en masse to help these fine gentlemen TAKE THE TOP STEP!
