Following his professional development and experience at Gratz (the original manufacturer of Pilates equipment as approved by Joseph H. Pilates himself) Basil went on to create his own line after having earned admiration of the foremost figures in the Pilates world. He has created an equipment line admired for their remarkable wood craftsmanship and supreme efficiency. While still employing the original designs and concepts as enforced by Joseph H. Pilates Basil’s line allows for “fluid transitions in the choreography of all routines, allowing users to focus on the exercises (and their bodies) and not on the equipment.”

The headline says it all!

As a teenager and college student, I struggled with body image and disordered eating. I used disordered eating to handle my emotions and feel more in control

This was sent to me from a fellow Pilates teacher (& one of my closest friends) in Chicago. One of her students sent it to her. I couldn't resist sharing

Received this from one of my students last week, so sweet! I feel so fortunate to have such wonderful & motivated students. Thank you!

“My daughter quarantined me on March 2nd because I’m 78 years & have smoked most of my life. I have been working with Nikki for 3 years and always enjoyed how her Pilates sessions made my body (& mind) feel. I felt being house bound would make it even more important that I exercise & stretch. Nikki has been coming to my home now, twice a week via FaceTime, keeping me moving & connected with the outside world. These sessions have been invaluable to my well being physically & mentally. Do yourself a favor & have Nikki or one her coworkers join you in your home, also.” - Sue

The principles of Pilates are Strength, Stretch, Control, Focus, Breath and Flow.

*Strength - We remain strong in the sight of unforeseen circumstances
*Stretch - Hey life throws us curve balls so lets stay flexible
*Control - We can not control what happens around us but we can control how we react to it
*Focus - If we focus on what we can do instead of what we can not do we continue to move forward
*Breath - Breathe deeply and find the joy in one small thing each day
*Flow - You can not beat a river into submission - you have to surrender to its flow and use its power as your own
