Congratulations to junior Will Nelms on an outstanding victory at the Sneds Tour at Riverside Golf Links!
Competing against a field of 62 golfers, Nelms finished with an impressive 69 (-1) — one stroke under par!
With three birdies throughout the round, those key shots made a huge difference and helped secure an outstanding finish.
Winning the tournament was significant to him because it was proof to himself that when he puts his mind to something and works hard for it, he can achieve his goals and dreams.
Inspired by his grandfather and his love for golf, Nelms began playing golf five years ago and competing nearly two years ago. He is a member of the Varsity Warriors Golf Team and enjoys the fun of learning something new about himself as a competitor and about the game each round.
Will’s current goal is for the opportunity to compete in the TSIAA State Championship as a solo and with his team. In the future, he is looking forward to a collegiate career but is not sure what college at this time.
