I’ve been planning to expand the glove services I offer for a while now and push myself beyond just being a good reconditioner. My goal is to become a true glove expert — someone who can handle complex repairs as well as restoration.
One of the biggest barriers has been learning to sew leather properly. So…I invested in a new industrial sewing machine and have been building up my toolkit and skills to take on tougher projects. Can’t wait to show you what I’m working on next!
In the meantime, here’s a fun little project: I built a crossbar for this 12.75” outfielder’s glove with an I-web. The ball was slipping right through. Even though the manufacturer replaced it for the customer, I asked if I could try “fixing” it myself. Not too shabby, right? What do you think?
