Coming down here, short pitching, the most critical position, my expectations weren't too high. We went 4-0 in pool play, 2-0 Friday, 1-0 Saturday, and 2-1 Sunday, ending the biggest tourney in the world with a 3rd place finish in the gold bracket. 3rd out of hundreds of teams. We were one win away from being one of the last two standing. We went into a double international tie breaker with a California cruisers team before losing the battle and losing our first game of the week. Bottom line - we belong here. Jo Norman is such an amazing leader. She truly put this team on her back and said "lets go girls, this is where we are going and you're all coming with me". The girls all did their parts. So many amazing moments. Top to the bottom of the line up went to work for her. The field went to work for her, and this Utah team sent team after team home. Never underestimate what love can do within a team. These girls will and have played hard for each other since they were 10u/12u. That will go further than any talent stacking team and is way more fun! I couldn't be more proud of these amazing human beings. I love them all tremendously!

Once again! We didn't take a team picture! So much to say about this weekend. Out of over 80 teams, we went to the platinum top bracket and finished in the top 4 teams. We had the most runs scored of any team there with 72 runs scored and only 16 allowed in 7 games. Some amazing ball was played this weekend, both offensively, and defensively. I'm pretty sure that had we been on opposite sides of the bracket, it would have been two Utah teams in the championship game of the 16u platinum. I'm glad to see Utah teams dominate. Take note softball world, Utah can play! A Utah team also took the Gold 18u bracket. Congrats to the Freakz 08 and Southern Thunder Elite for taking it in their division. Congrats to Elite Gold for a great finish in the top bracket at a big one!

Elite took the field again at Utah Summer Games for the first time in 2025. It always takes a minute to settle back in together after a long winter break and high school season. Some great ball was played! Bats were on fire, there were some amazing above average plays, aggressive base running, and great pitching. We definitely slept on the Dons that last game, and ended up with a 2nd place finish. Back to work we go! Next up, Portland.
