⚾️ A MESSAGE FROM PLANT CITY REDS BASEBALL ⚾️
I wanted to personally address some of the confusion and lack of communication that a few of our families experienced regarding one of our teams this fall.
First, I sincerely apologize to those families.
As many of you know, Plant City Reds continues to grow. We have an 8U program that is flourishing, a strong 16U program, and we are continuing to build additional teams and opportunities for kids in our community.
As the owner of multiple businesses, the person overseeing this organization, a coach, and also a dad with sons playing on both our 8U and 16U teams, I simply cannot personally handle every responsibility within every team.
Part of growing this organization means trusting good people to step into leadership roles and allowing coaches to manage their individual teams.
Unfortunately, in this particular situation, some of the responsibilities I trusted someone else to handle—especially scheduling, communication and keeping parents properly informed—were not handled to the standard I expect for the Plant City Reds.
I take responsibility for that.
I should have recognized it sooner and stepped in sooner. Changes have been made, and we’re moving forward.
I also don’t want one situation to overshadow what we’re building here.
We have some great coaches, great families and great kids within this organization, and I’m extremely proud of the direction our established teams are heading.
Now we want to continue growing.
⚾️ WE ARE LOOKING FOR PLAYERS!
We currently have openings throughout the organization and are specifically looking for additional players to help complete our 9U roster.
For families who would like to join us and finish out the fall season, Plant City Reds will cover 50% of the normal player cost.
Our goal isn’t to cut back on the baseball experience. We still plan to play a solid tournament schedule this fall while continuing to develop the kids and build these teams.
Going into Spring, families can expect an even more structured schedule, earlier communication and an organized plan well in advance of the season.
We’re building something here, and building it the right way sometimes means recognizing where something didn’t work, correcting it, and getting better because of it.
So to the families who were affected, I apologize personally. And to anyone who may have considered joining the Reds but was hesitant because of what they experienced or heard, I invite you to come see the organization for yourself.
We’re not looking to just fill roster spots.
We’re looking for kids and families who want to become part of the Plant City Reds family and grow with us.
