Though the score did not end up in our favor, tonight coaches saw many great things in this game that the team has learned the last 6 weeks. Specifically, reading a fly ball when on first base, perfectly leading off to make it to second on a drop, but not too far to get doubled off on the catch. Also, tagging up on a fly ball when on third, scoring easily on the drop and ready to score if caught. Also, pitchers covering first or backing up the throw on a ground ball to the right (first base) side. Also, right fielder consistently backing up first base in case of an overthrow. Also, our short stop and second baseman backing up almost every throw back from the catcher to the pitcher. Also, consistently getting a good lead-off when running the bases, ready to move if the ball is hit. Also, many have the "hop"or "creep" down, an action they make on defense just before the pitch is thrown to get them ready for the ball if it is hit to them. All of these things we saw in this game and are very impressive, making this game very successful and a Great game in my book, even if we didn't win. Keep up the hard work boys, and above all, keep having fun!
