The U.S. Figure Skating association changed the naming scheme of their “Moves in the Field” skating skills tests around the time I started taking ice skating seriously. As a result, my skating club has finally run out of the original patches and switched to the new ones… I guess it’s a good thing I’m not obsessive about this kind of thing. 😂

When people say “it’s so hard to make friends as an adult”, I disagree! As adults we have the opportunity to make meaningful friendships! When we are young, we’re placed in school with people and make friends as a result of that consequence. As adults, we can find our own place and seek out people who are passionate about life in a similar way! It just takes the willingness to get out of our comfort zone and go get involved in activities. Adult skating communities are one of many examples we can get involved in and make great friendships. Not giving up skating as I grew into an adult is one of the smartest things I have ever done. I’m surrounded by so many good people and life has so much meaning, and joy!
