Its Leg day... this workout is great for those training for the upcoming stair climb! Here’s the workout: 1 mile run (with weighted pack optional), 10 jumping bench squats, 10 single leg squats on each leg off of the flagpole pavers, 7 50-feet passes (there and back) of lateral, moving squats with reaching ground tag. Repeat 3 times, weighted vest optional (pictures with 30 lbs), repeat 1 mile run. Additional pics and video in the comments.

Balance, conditioning, teamwork, situational awareness, breath control, and mental toughness were the major themes of tonight’s workout. Lots of variety meant everyone found something that challenged their weak points. Which means we all got a little bit better mentally and physically tonight.

Today’s class was EPIC! Our endurance walk was hard core with tire flips, sledgehammer swings, kettle bell lifts, plank walk outs and overhead lifts and deadlifts with rolls of hose. We capped it off with some search and rescue with surprise live victims and a seriously difficult push-up challenge. Thanks to Catherine Warnock for the LODD update and Jim Ryan for the high quality warm up and cool down. Nice job everyone!

We did lots of plank work during our search and collapse simulation in the group ex room, and we challenged ourselves with drags, pulls, lifts and carries with kettle bells. Overall, we worked hard, got healthier and it was GREAT to be back together. Don't miss another class- next one is Wednesday the 24th. Check out our event on this page!

Didn’t really feel like working out this afternoon after work. Did it anyway. Got some reps in. Next Firefit session starts Wednesday 17 July. 2015 hours at the Plaistow YMCA. Come by and get a great workout with other local firefighters. Scaled for different fitness and experience levels.
