Day 4 at ISIteamcamps brought a little weather out but the kids came to compete! Angie was a takedown champion for the girls and Stokes made it the farthest for the boys in the takedown tournament. Everyone competed well! We learned a lot about wrestling, competing, and nutrition. Lots of takedowns, nearfalls, pins, were score but the best statistic was only 3 kids were locked out of there room this time around!!!

Day 3 at ISIteamcamps was loaded with some great technique by Mitchel Messenbrink a couple more dual wins, a JV tournament, and some great team building activities!!! After Brian’s win in the all star dual we capped off the night some celebratory ice cream and Arby’s French fries.

Day 2 at ISI brought on some great team building with the inflatable obstacle course!! Some of the kids wanted to change our name to the Hawks afterwards. Thankfully cooler heads prevailed. Then we capped it off with some freestyle technique, and finished the day with a massive dodgeball tournament.

Day 1 is in the books at ISI Wesleyan university! We went 1-1 on the duals and had a rough day on team Olympics. But we are shaking off the rust and getting ready to get after it tomorrow!

Even though it didn’t end the way we had hoped, I couldn’t be prouder of the fight we showed.

Brian competed his heart out!! He pushed the pace so hard that opponents had to score 20+ points at times just to hold him off because he never stopped coming after them. In both matches, we were just a takedown away from swinging the momentum and pulling ahead. That’s the kind of pressure and toughness he brings every time he steps on the mat.

Huge thank you to Javi and Hugo for warming him up and keeping the mood light all weekend long. Those moments matter more than people realize.

And a big thank you to Robert, Julia, Joey, Cam, Charlie, Neal and Kristina for making the trip down to support and watch some wrestling! Having that camaraderie and energy in the stands during the semis and finals on Friday and Saturday meant a lot. That’s what team culture is all about.

The work continues. 💪🔥

🔥 Sectional Success – State Bound! 🔥

Congratulations to Brian Tejeda on an incredible performance this weekend! Brian earned a huge revenge win against Joliet West, battled his way into the finals, and punched his ticket to the State Tournament — a state qualifier as a sophomore! 💪🤼‍♂️ What an accomplishment!

Now it’s back to work — three more days of practice as we get ready for Thursday’s first-round match. The focus stays the same.

Nick and Joey wrestled tough and never stopped looking for points — even in the final moments of their matches. That fight and mentality say a lot about who they are and what this program is about.

Proud of this group and the way they continue to compete and support one another. The journey continues! 🔴⚫
