Even though it didn’t end the way we had hoped, I couldn’t be prouder of the fight we showed.

Brian competed his heart out!! He pushed the pace so hard that opponents had to score 20+ points at times just to hold him off because he never stopped coming after them. In both matches, we were just a takedown away from swinging the momentum and pulling ahead. That’s the kind of pressure and toughness he brings every time he steps on the mat.

Huge thank you to Javi and Hugo for warming him up and keeping the mood light all weekend long. Those moments matter more than people realize.

And a big thank you to Robert, Julia, Joey, Cam, Charlie, Neal and Kristina for making the trip down to support and watch some wrestling! Having that camaraderie and energy in the stands during the semis and finals on Friday and Saturday meant a lot. That’s what team culture is all about.

The work continues. 💪🔥

🔥 Sectional Success – State Bound! 🔥

Congratulations to Brian Tejeda on an incredible performance this weekend! Brian earned a huge revenge win against Joliet West, battled his way into the finals, and punched his ticket to the State Tournament — a state qualifier as a sophomore! 💪🤼‍♂️ What an accomplishment!

Now it’s back to work — three more days of practice as we get ready for Thursday’s first-round match. The focus stays the same.

Nick and Joey wrestled tough and never stopped looking for points — even in the final moments of their matches. That fight and mentality say a lot about who they are and what this program is about.

Proud of this group and the way they continue to compete and support one another. The journey continues! 🔴⚫

Next stop: Edwardsville High School for the IHSA Sectional Wrestling Tournament! 🤼‍♂️🔥

One more bus ride together! We’re excited for the opportunity to compete at the next level and continue this journey together. The hard work continues, and our guys are ready for the challenge ahead.

Regionals Recap –

Our varsity wrestlers represented East with pride at the Regional Tournament, and the results speak for themselves! 💪🤼‍♂️

🥇 Brian battled through a tough bracket to become a Regional Champion — an outstanding performance when it mattered most.
🥈 Nick fought his way to a 2nd place finish, showing grit and consistency all day long.
🥈 Joey Nino also earned a 2nd place finish, wrestling with heart from start to finish.

👏 A huge congratulations to Cam, who reached an incredible milestone by earning his 100th varsity win — a testament to years of hard work, dedication, and perseverance.

Regionals are always an emotional rollercoaster, but what stood out most was how this group stuck together, supported one another, and wrestled their hearts out every match.

As we turn our focus to Sectionals on February 13th and 14th, it’s been awesome to see Rylan, Hugo, Adams, Dominiak, Mitchel, Javi, Subhan, and Robert rally around the qualifiers — pushing them, supporting them, and helping get them ready for the next challenge.

This is what team culture looks like. The journey continues! 🔴⚫🤼‍♂️

🔥 SPC Conference Tournament – East Represented the Right Way! 🔥

Our varsity wrestlers stepped up and proudly represented East at the SPC Conference Tournament! 💪🤼‍♂️

🥈 Cam and Brian each earned 2nd place finishes, bringing home All-Conference honors after battling through a tough field.

📊 Nick put on a scoring clinic, outscoring the entire tournament with 64 total points — an incredible performance.

👏 Collin turned in a career-best 6th place finish, showing growth, grit, and determination all tournament long.

🔥 Javi was also a major contributor, finishing as one of the team’s leading scorers with 38 total match points.

💥 Robert, Hugo, MJ, and Alex all wrestled hard and competed with grit. While the results didn’t end the way they wanted, their effort, toughness, and fight never wavered — and that matters.

A huge shout-out to Collin and Joey for the behind-the-scenes work — filming matches, bouncing from gym to gym, and doing the little things that don’t always get noticed but make a big difference for the team. That support doesn’t go unnoticed, and it’s a lot of work!

This group stayed locked in, kept the focus on scoring points, and competed with intensity and pride every time they stepped on the mat.

Now it’s on to Regionals this Saturday at Moline High School — and the excitement is building! Let’s keep the momentum rolling! 🔴⚫🤼‍♂️

17 senior athletes took to the stage tonight and wrestled against Romeoville. I couldn’t be more proud to watch these young athletes grapple with adversity and bring a level of fun and positivity to the wrestling room! The wrestling prgoram at PEHS is better because of the parents and athletes that take on the wrestling challenge!!!

Your Bengal Wrestlers just completed the last leg of their marathon of competitions. We hosted south at home, we were away on Friday and then up early for Saturday! These wrestlers are exhausted but still have enough energy to sing on the bus!!!

We had an early morning on Saturday. The freshman and sophomores had a lot of great development at the McHenry tournament.

Then your Varsity line-up went to Joliet and finished 11th out of 24 teams. Multiple 5th placed finishes where we were able to secure bonus points in the consolation brackets. Plus the pizza was pretty good too!

Thank you Force Wrestling for getting the word out and working with us in growing the wrestling community!!!!

We hosted a tournament this morning with Force and still made in time for the bear game! Thank you to all the families who made this a possibility and gave their time to make this event happen.
