Well it took my daughter Grace until this past Saturday, a week before season’s end to put one in the freezer but she did it.
Wasn’t sure what I was gonna do because the wind wasn’t going to be right for one of our properties. So Uncle Joe said take her to the farm so the night before myself,Grace and my Buddy Elliott (a first year hunter) headed down to see if I couldn’t put them both on one. About 8:15am 3 came walking out. They got with in 30 yrds Grace’s max range and she smoke this doe. Didn’t go 40 yrds. So proud of her. Thanks to Elliott for helping us track it, drag it and do some needed work on the farm.
Thanks to Uncle Joe for the suggestion and giving me an idea of where to go. And thanks to Aunt Tena for letting Grace use her crossbow, because Grace’s broke beginning season. Family beyond Blood.

I want to congratulate my son on his first deer. Wasn't in the stand 20mins and here he came. My best moment in the deer woods hands down. I want to thank the man upstairs stairs for creating and allowing us to be in the woods. I want to thank his mother/my wife Courtney Burke for dealing with our addiction and passion we have to be out there. Special thanks to Brenda Lycan and Lycan Farms for the opportunity on the property.

Well as some of you know. I’m a truck driver/mover. So I don’t get as much time to hunt now, being gone most the time. I was supposed to be on my way to NY on November 12th to deliver on Wed. Wasn’t even supposed to be home. Well my customer couldn’t take their stuff until Thursday. I picked them up in Lexington Ky.
My cameras were going off like crazy. So I decided instead of sitting at truck stops for days I was going home to hunt Tuesday. So I got home got my stuff together and got up at 4am and was in my stand by 6:30. I had two deer see me walking in. Lightly blew at me didn’t quite know what I was. Then got to my stand had another one about 60yrds from me. I use a green light so turned it off. It didn’t even know I was there. I hooked to my safety rope got in the tree. Seen 4 more 3 smaller bucks, then this guy come in with a hot doe. She led him right to me 20 yrd chip shot. He ran 60yrds and dropped. Wouldn’t know as he went down I looked down and there was a smaller buck then a monster 12 came right to the same spot. What a morning for not even supposed to be home. I was amazed and so blessed with God awesome gift of the day. Beyond ecstatic for this buck and to see all I seen that morning. Yes truly Blessed.
So have to thank first and foremost God for all he does and this beautiful animal.
Then my Wife Tiffany for all the support for what I love to do and definitely Brenda Lycan and Lycan farms for allowing me to enjoy her land. My Father-in-la Gary helping me switch areas to make it better access to the stand, so there were less chances of getting busted. Again, God is good.
