📝 NEW SIGNING | RYAN “RHYNO” LYNDON 📝

Finally remembered to get a picture to post this! 🤣📸

Rhyno has been with us since the start of pre-season and officially joined Sandwell Social for the new campaign.

A founding member of Social 90, he’s already settled in well and made his mark on the pitch, picking up Man of the Match twice so far - including Sunday just gone. 👏

Capable of playing in multiple positions, Rhyno brings plenty of experience, versatility and fight to the squad.

North Solihull Knights 0-8 Sandwell Casuals

A good day for the Sandwell Club as we make it two wins from two! 💪

The Casuals’ first league game ends in an 8-0 win. Credit to North Solihull, who kept going right until the final whistle and played some nice football through their midfield.

With everyone putting in such a shift, Man of the Match was a tough one to choose. A good few players found the scoresheet and, just as importantly, we kept our sheet well and truly clean! 🧤

Jack Hunter gets the nod though, running his socks off for the entirety of his shift in midfield. Battling for every loose ball, carrying the ball really well and constantly finding open teammates.

Every player got plenty of minutes in the tank today, building even more fitness for the season ahead.

Another three points on the board 👊

A convincing 8-3 win against Kidderminster, with the lads putting together some really good football in spells. There’s still plenty to improve on though, with a few sloppy goals given away that we know we can do better with.

Bez was absolutely on fire, with both goals being outstanding. One in particular is an early contender for Goal of the Month and it’ll take some beating! Torres vs. Blackburn in ‘09 is all I’m saying! 🚀

Great to see Dan Brown back after his travelling escapades and making an immediate impact.

There were some excellent individual performances across the team, but Rhyno picked up Man of the Match again. Another huge shift from him, working tirelessly for the team and producing some quality defence-splitting passes throughout.

We’re pleased to announce that Sandwell Casuals will be competing in the Midlands Development Football League this season! ⚽️

The league gives our Casuals players the chance to get some proper competitive football under their belts, whilst also creating more opportunities for players to get minutes, develop and put themselves forward.

With a busy season ahead for Sandwell Social, having the Casuals competing in their own league gives us another pathway for players to stay involved, get regular game time and continue improving. 👊

And there’s no time to waste…

Tomorrow a new season, a new challenge and another opportunity for the Casuals to show what they can do begins as we kick off the campaign at North Solihull Knights. 🫡

After a few weeks away from league action The Social are back this weekend as we travel to face Kidderminster. 🤝

Our last league outing saw us pick up our first three points of the season against Bromsgrove, and we’re looking to build on that result as we head into a busy run of fixtures.

The lads are raring to go, the football is back, and there’s plenty to look forward to over the coming weeks.

Sunday gives us another chance to put more points on the board and keep building some momentum.

Back to business. Let’s get to work. 🔵⚫️

Congratulations to Liam Westwood, our Player of the Month for July/August! 👏

Liam has settled into the team brilliantly since joining this summer, immediately showing what he brings to the side. A quiet likeable lad who’s already become a big part of the group, and on the pitch he’s shown just how good he is on the ball.

He’s the type of player who gets us playing, keeping things simple, making the right decision and finding that effective pass time and time again. ⚽️

And it’s not just his ability on the ball. Liam works incredibly hard for the full 90, every single game, and his consistency has already stood out.

A massive start to life at Sandwell Social. There’s no doubt Liam is going to have a big season. 💙
