As many of our players are just returning from winter break and getting back on the ice with their teammates, one very talented player will not be joining us this January… but for very good reason.
Our very own Revo Ice Academy and WBS Knights 16U AAA forward, Deimantas Sulinskas, has travelled half around the world to represent his home country of Lithuania at the World Championship U20! 🏆🇱🇹 Deimantas joins Team Lietuva for his second year, first playing on the national U18 team in 2024. This year they play in Croatia and compete against other national teams from Great Britain, China, Romania, Netherlands, and Croatia.
When asked what does it mean to be selected to represent his home country at the World Championship 2025, Deimantas responded, “It means a lot to me because I have been practicing and training the whole year and they basically pick the best guys from my country. I’m happy to have the opportunity to play with such a great team and great coaches.”
Reflecting on his experience, Deimantas added, “For my second year, I already know how the guys play, and I will feel more apart of the team. I’ll know my teammates and my line-mates. I think I’m quicker, faster, stronger this year and ready to do my role to win.”
WBS Knights 16U Head Coach Matt Reid stated, “As a coach, you are always looking for players that want to get better at everything. Deimantas came to us a very highly skilled forward. In the past 4 months, he has elevated every part of his game, making him a dominant competitor. We are proud to be a part of his development and excited to support him as he represents his home country.”
Games for Team Lietuva in Division II Group A start January 6th. Make sure to follow along and let’s cheer for our very own Deima! 💙🤍🩵⚔️🏆🏒🇱🇹
