Camp Sangamon The Camp with the Pioneer Spirit! We're an independent overnight camp for boys and nonbinary youth located in Pittsford, Vermont.

We've been operating since 1922. A Boys' overnight Summer Camp focused on true freedom of choice. Arts, Crafts, Sports, Outdoor Pursuits, and other traditional camping activities are offered in a non-competitive, supportive environment.

It's one of our favorite pre-camp traditions: watching out for our snapping turtle who makes her way from the pond to the hill to lay her eggs. This year, a group of staff saw her, some for the first time. We follow her to her nest (roughly the same place each year), so we can block it off from foot traffic and protect her eggs.
We are 18 days from opening day and can't wait to see all our campers!
Camp Sangamon is an overnight camp for boys and non-binary youth, located in the beautiful hills of Central Vermont. We are kid driven, meaning our campers directo their day, choose their activities and participate in every aspect of camp life.

We're getting pretty excited up on this hill! Camp Sangamon opens in 27 days and staff have begun arriving.
We are an overnight summer camp for boys and non-binary youth, located in the mountains of Central Vermont. With 20 different activities; 170 acres of wood, pond pasture and trails; and super-low staff to camper ratio, you are guaranteed the summer or your life! We still have some bunks left. We are 1 month away from opening day! The fruit trees are flowering, our mushroom garden (inoculated birch and oak logs) has wintered over, and our bees have been enjoying the dandelion crop this year. Sangamon Staff Sterling, Alex M, Alex G, Yannick, Jed and Sam are at Camp, Sarolta arrives Saturday and Eliza arrives Sunday!

We’ve hatched 5 geese in preparation for Camp. Two will go to and 3 will stay at Sangamon. Duck and chicken eggs are in the incubator now! The water is on and we’re opening cabins. Alex, Sterling and Yannick have already arrived. Feels like Camp season is getting close!

Camp Sangamon is an overnight camp for Boys and non-binary kids, located on 170 acres in the hills of Central Vermont. We have over 20 activities that Campers can choose from. We're totally kid-directed, so Campers choose their own adventure every day!
At Ranch, kids learn to care for horses--grooming and feeding them, exercising them, and even helping the farrier with the shoeing.
Whatever the level of experience, every Camper who wants to ride will ride.
