MEMBER OF THE MONTH: it’s Adina F.! Adina has really come into her own as a boxer and it has been a wonderful thing to behold. She started out as a true beginner and is now comfortable slipping, rolling, bobbing, weaving, hopping-over, kicking and punching to any target any time. Adina is a dedicated worker, a delightful presence, and a darn good fighter. She is also super fun to talk to, super smart and sweet, and super duper fun to have in class. We appreciate her positive energy, her grooving to the music, her liveliness and all-around good spirit. Say hi to her next time you see her at the club and if you have any questions about K-Pop line-ups and the nuances between groups and styles, she’s your gal! Learn more about Adina below!
Q: What first got you interested in TITLE Boxing Club?
A: I was first interested in Title Boxing because it looked like it could be very different than anything I’d done before. I was looking for a group fitness class, and I tried a couple of different types of classes that didn’t quite hold my interest, but this looked unique and I wanted to try it out!
Q: What was your first class like?
A: My first class was an early morning one, so I must have been particularly motivated that day. I remember it was a little challenging to keep up with the combos, so I had to keep watching Alex and the other people around me to figure out what I should be doing. It was tough, but that is exactly what I was looking for.
Q: What motivates you to work so hard?
A: I want to be strong, and I want to keep improving. Alex and Steph motivate me to work hard in class, and I need that because I have a hard time pushing myself. Alex was the first person to ever describe me as an athlete, so I keep that in mind when I’m feeling tired or lazy. I’ve also found that my mood improves after a hard workout, so that’s pretty motivating too.
Q: Who is scariest - Michael Myers, Jason Vorhees, Freddy Kruger, or Art the Clown? And why?
A: Art the clown, no question. Clowns are the most absurdly terrifying creatures in my opinion. Truly the worst!!!
Q: Do you have a favorite punch/kick/combo/etc.?
A: I like any combo including a rear round kick/lead hook. Those two together are so satisfying.
Q: What do you do when you’re not at the club?
A: I’m usually pretty busy if I’m not at the club. I spend time playing with my dogs, reading fantasy books, playing D&D with my siblings and dad on Saturday nights, and playing Mahjong with the ladies in my family on Sunday afternoons. I’ve been following a fantasy-inspired fitness program in the last few weeks too, so that’s been fun.
Q: What would your fighter walkout song be?
A: I have spent a considerable amount of time thinking about how I would answer this question, and I don’t know if I will ever be satisfied with just one song. Currently, my answer would be DOMINO by Stray Kids.
Q: One fun fact that nobody knows about you? Until now!
A: When I was a kid, I was completely ambidextrous. I can’t write with my left hand anymore, but I would still consider myself averagely ambidextrous in other tasks.
