Write up from Tuesday nights Minor Girls game!

Pittsfield and Alton battled through another back and forth showdown Tuesday night, finishing in another 15-15 tie.

Livia Worthen got the start in the circle for Pittsfield and battled into the second inning before Kinzlee Babcock came on in relief and continued the strong effort.

Pittsfield’s defense continued its recent run of strong play as Worthen and Shelby Blanchard teamed up for an out at home in the first inning, marking the third straight game the duo has thrown out a runner trying to score. Aspyn Gauthier and Anabella Clement also turned in strong performances behind the plate.

Pittsfield got on the board early in the bottom of the first when Babcock stole home. Worthen followed with a steal of home of her own before Kit Forst drove in another run with a single. Forst finished 1 for 1 with an RBI, a walk and two runs scored.

The defensive play of the game came when Pittsfield caught an Alton runner trapped between third base and home. Crisp throws from Worthen to Babcock and back to Worthen completed the rundown before the runner could reach the plate.

Pittsfield’s offense kept rolling in the second inning as Gauthier, Stella Blanchard, Addilyn Gionet, Clement and Babcock all worked walks to open the frame. That brought Worthen to the plate in a key moment, and she delivered with an RBI double to cap the inning. Worthen finished 1 for 1 with an RBI, a hit by pitch and a run scored. The double completed her cycle for the season and extended her hitting streak to eight games.

Pittsfield was aggressive on the bases throughout the night, piling up 26 stolen bases. Forst led the way with five steals, including two steals of home. Scarlet Lake and Amiah Gates added four steals apiece, while Babcock, Gauthier and Worthen each collected three. Stella Blanchard, Laura Serrentino, Addilyn Gionet and Anabella Clement each added a steal.

Pittsfield returns home Thursday night for its final home game of the season, a makeup matchup against Gilmanton.

It was a busy week last week for our PYAA/PYBA minors girls team, with two make up games and one scheduled game!! Tuesday night they took on Barnstead and tied 15-15. Thursday night they hosted Ossipee at home and lost 15-8, and then Saturday they played Alton and tied 15-15.

Saturday was a busy day for our PYAA/PYBA players!

Our rookie girls beat Alton 7-2 and they all played amazing. Everyone was hitting and the bats really came alive with all girls getting on base in the final inning.

Our rookie boys won their first game and beat Alton 13-5 and played hard ball. There was so many great plays, catches, and they were all hitting the ball. Fun was had by everyone!

And our much anticipated write up for minor girls:

PITTSFIELD — Pittsfield traveled to Wakefield for a Saturday afternoon matchup and battled until the end before falling just short in a 12-11 loss. With the hard fought defeat, Pittsfield moves to 3-1-1 on the season.

Wakefield opened the game with strong pitching, allowing just two runs while striking out three batters in the top of the first inning. Pittsfield found itself trailing 5-2 after the opening frame.

Kinzlee Babcock made her third start of the season in the circle for Pittsfield and recorded two strikeouts on the day. Pittsfield settled in during the second inning and responded offensively in a big way. Riley Morse drew a walk and Nora Bartlett was hit by a pitch to put two runners aboard for Babcock, who delivered a hard line drive to bring home two runs. Babcock finished the game 1-for-1 with two RBIs and two walks.

Livia Worthen followed with an RBI single to score Babcock and finished 1-for-1 with an RBI and two walks of her own. Scarlet Lake then worked a walk, and during Lake’s at-bat, Worthen aggressively stole second, third, and home. Kit Forst added another key hit later in the inning, driving in Lake for Pittsfield’s third hit of the frame.

Pittsfield also tightened things up defensively in the second inning with strong pitching and fielding. Bella Clement came up with one of the defensive highlights of the game, fielding a ball cleanly and making a tag at third base for the out.

The aggressive baserunning continued throughout the game, highlighted by a heads up steal of home from Riley Morse in the third inning. Pittsfield finished the afternoon with an impressive 20 stolen bases. Bartlett and Babcock led the charge with five steals each, while Worthen added four. Morse, Lake, and Laura Serrentino each contributed two stolen bases.

Aspyn Gauthier also reached base with a walk, while Addilyn Gionet continued to show confidence at the plate with fearless at-bats.

Pittsfield will look to bounce back Tuesday night when they return home for their next matchup.

Minors girls write up from Tuesday!!

PITTSFIELD — After battling to a rain-soaked 15-15 tie just one week earlier, Pittsfield returned to Gilmanton on Tuesday night looking to finish the job. In a back and forth contest filled with aggressive base running and timely hitting, Pittsfield escaped with a hard-fought 13-12 victory.

Pittsfield wasted no time getting on the scoreboard in the top of the first inning when Livia Worthen stole home, one of her three stolen bases on the night. Scarlet Lake later scored after Amiah Gates worked a walk, and Kit Forst crossed the plate on another patient at-bat by Addilyn Gionet. Gilmanton settled in defensively after the early surge, limiting Pittsfield to three runs in the inning.

Worthen got the start in the circle for Pittsfield and opened the game strong by striking out the second batter she faced. Pittsfield’s defense then came through in key moments as Aspyn Gauthier teamed up with Worthen twice at home plate to stop Gilmanton runners attempting to steal home. Pittsfield escaped the first inning holding a narrow 3-2 lead.

The offense came alive again in the second inning as Pittsfield showed patience at the plate. Walks by Stella Blanchard, Bella Clement, Nora Bartlett and Kinzlee Babcock helped extend the lead to 4-2 before Worthen delivered the biggest hit of the game. Worthen crushed a line drive to left field for a grand slam, finishing the night 1-for-1 with a home run and four RBIs.

Gilmanton answered back in the bottom half of the inning, but Pittsfield’s defense again came through at the plate as Gauthier and Worthen combined for their third out on a runner trying to score. Pittsfield carried an 8-7 lead into the next inning.

Pittsfield remained disciplined offensively throughout the game, drawing 19 walks while aggressively attacking the bases with 16 stolen bases. Scarlet Lake led the way with four steals, while Worthen added three. Nora Bartlett, Kit Forst and Stella Blanchard each recorded two stolen bases. Shelby Blanchard, Amiah Gates and Bella Clement each added one. Laura Serrentino later drew a walk that brought home Pittsfield’s final run of the game.

Kinzlee Babcock entered in the third inning and shut the door for Pittsfield to earn the save, recording one strikeout.

With the victory, Pittsfield moves on to face Wakefield on the road Saturday.

***PITTSFIELD BATTLES GILMANTON TO HARD-FOUGHT 15-15 TIE**

PITTSFIELD — In a high-energy matchup filled with aggressive baserunning and timely hitting, Pittsfield battled Gilmanton to a 15-15 tie in a game that showcased determination from start to finish.

Pittsfield wasted no time getting on the board in the opening inning, as Nora Bartlett electrified the offense by stealing home, one of her three stolen bases on the day. Kit Forst followed suit later in the inning, swiping home as well to cap the scoring. Forst finished with two stolen bases, helping set the tone for a relentless Pittsfield attack on the basepaths.

In total, Pittsfield racked up an impressive 17 stolen bases. Shelby Blanchard and Nora Bartlett led the way with three apiece, while Livia Worthen, Kinzlee Babcock, and Aspyn Gauthier each added two. Amiah Gates, Addilyn Gionet, and Laura Serrentino also contributed with one stolen base each.

Kinzlee Babcock got the start in the circle for Pittsfield, with Nora Bartlett and Livia Worthen coming in to pitch in relief. Both Bartlett and Worthen recorded a strikeout, helping keep Pittsfield within striking distance throughout the game.

The Pittsfield bats came alive in the second inning, highlighted by a clutch, bases-clearing triple from Livia Worthen. Worthen finished a perfect 1-for-1 at the plate with two RBIs and a walk. Scarlett Lake followed with an RBI knock in the next at-bat, finishing her day 1-for-1 with an RBI and a walk of her own. Stella Blanchard also had a strong showing at the plate, reaching base in both of her at-bats.

With momentum building, Pittsfield now turns its focus to its next matchup, as they prepare to host Ossipee at home this Saturday.

Our teams travelled to Alton today to play some softball on a rainy Saturday. Our 8U girls played a great game. They made some great plays for some outs and had the bats rolling. Our 10U team won 10-3, and our 12U got rescheduled due to the rain and field conditions.

PITTSFIELD — Pittsfield came out firing in their second game of the season, delivering a dominant performance before weather cut things short, securing a 10-3 victory.

The offense wasted no time getting started, exploding for five runs in the top of the first inning. Aggressive base running set the tone early, with six stolen bases in the frame. Riley Morse and Livia Worthen each swiped two bags, while Nora Bartlett and Scarlet Lake added one apiece.

Livia Worthen got the start in the circle and made an immediate impact, striking out the first batter she faced and allowing just one run. She was backed by strong defense, highlighted by Riley Morse behind the plate, who recorded two key putouts at home, one in connection with Worthen and another later in the game with Nora Bartlett pitching.

Pittsfield carried that momentum into the second inning, adding another five runs. Worthen helped her own cause at the plate with a two-run single and finished the game a perfect 2-for-2. Kinzlee Babcock capped the scoring by stealing home for Pittsfield’s 10th run.

The lineup showed strong consistency throughout, with Scarlet Lake reaching base in both of her plate appearances, along with Kit Forst doing the same. Amiah Gates, Aspyn Gauthier, and Laura Serrentino each made the most of their opportunities, reaching base in their lone plate appearances. Addilyn Gionet made her first game appearance and showed an aggressive approach at the plate.

Nora Bartlett took over in the circle for her first career pitching appearance, battling through rainy conditions and showing determination in her debut.

The game was ultimately called due to poor field conditions, but not before Pittsfield made a strong statement with their all-around performance.

Opening weekend for PYBA/PYAA was a hit! Our minors girls team won 12-11 in a nail bitter and our major girls had a phenomenal come back to tie the game 15-15 softball 🥎

**Pittsfield Minors Rally for Walk-Off Win on Opening Day**

PITTSFIELD — Opening day brought excitement and drama as the Pittsfield Minor girls softball team secured a thrilling walk-off victory over Wolfeboro in their season debut.

Kinzlee Babcock got the start in the circle for Pittsfield, keeping the game within reach through the first two innings. Despite an early push from Wolfeboro, Pittsfield responded quickly. In the bottom of the first inning, Pittsfield erupted for five runs to even the score at 5-5. Highlighting the rally was Kit Forst, who delivered a clutch two-run double in her very first career at-bat.

Wolfeboro answered back with five runs in the top of the second inning, but Pittsfield refused to back down. Showing patience at the plate and aggressive base running, Pittsfield once again battled back, tying the game at 10-10.

With the game on the line in the top of the third inning—the final frame—Livia Worthen took the mound and delivered a standout performance. Worthen struck out three batters, allowed just one run, and kept Pittsfield within striking distance heading into their final at-bat.

In the bottom of the inning, Pittsfield capitalized on key opportunities, drawing walks and applying pressure on the bases. Riley Morse came through with a timely single that brought Laura Serrentino home to tie the game. Moments later, Kinzlee Babcock stepped up once again and delivered the game-winning hit, a single that drove in Kit Forst for the decisive run.

Pittsfield’s determination and teamwork powered them to an unforgettable 12-11 walk-off victory to open the season.
