Our minor girls lost Wednesday night, and play tonight in the elimination round against Ossipee in Wolfeboro, 5:45 game start time! 🐾

Pittsfield faced Wakefield in the second round of the tournament and showed plenty of determination despite falling 12-6. After finding themselves in an early 8-1 hole through two innings, Pittsfield battled back and made things interesting before Wakefield's strong pitching staff closed out the victory.
Pittsfield struck first in the opening inning thanks to Livia Worthen. Worthen singled to reach base and then aggressively stole her way around the bases to score the team's first run. She finished the game 1 for 1 with a walk and two runs scored, extending her hitting streak to an impressive 12 consecutive games.
Kinzlee Babcock went the distance in the circle for Pittsfield, recording five strikeouts while keeping her team in the game. Defensively, Babcock also made a highlight reel play, snagging a line drive up the middle for the second straight game.
Pittsfield mounted its biggest rally in the fourth inning. Worthen led off with a walk and once again used her aggressive base running approach to steal her way home. The offense continued to apply pressure as Scarlet Lake, Kit Forst, Stella Blanchard, Laura Serrentino, and Riley Morse all worked walks to keep the inning alive. Forst delivered one of the game's top moments with a perfectly executed steal of home, sliding under the tag to score. Later in the inning, Babcock added an RBI single to cap a five run frame and pull Pittsfield closer. Babcock ended the day going 1 for 2 with an RBI.
Pittsfield's aggressive baserunning was on display throughout the game as the team recorded 14 stolen bases. Worthen led the way with six steals, while Aspyn Gauthier, Lake, and Forst each added two. Stella Blanchard and Amiah Gates contributed one stolen base apiece.
Addilyn Gionet and Anabella Clement each battled through tough at bats and helped keep pressure on the Wakefield defense throughout the contest.
Behind the plate, Shelby Blanchard continued her strong defensive play, providing steady leadership for the Pittsfield pitching staff and helping control the game from the catcher position.
Despite the loss, Pittsfield showed resilience and never stopped competing. They will look to keep their season alive when they return to the field Friday night in an elimination game.
