As we count down the days to the Athletic Hall of Fame ceremony on September 19th, let's get to know more about our esteemed inductees, finishing with Heather Moon McCaw ’87. To register for the event, click the link below!

Heather made an immediate impact at MCI in field hockey, basketball and track earning letters all four years. She earned the field hockey MVP and offensive MVP in 1985 and 1986, respectively, and was named first team All-State both seasons. On the track, Heather was a two-time team captain and the MCI track MVP in 1985 and 1986. In 1987, she won the Penquis League Discus championship and was a member of the Eastern Maine mile relay championship team which set a record that remains intact today.
Heather also excelled in the classroom and was a member of the National Honor Society. She was awarded the MCI Faculty Cup and the Coaches Award at graduation in 1987. Heather went on to play field hockey at the University of Maine, along with her twin sister Heidi, where she was a four-year letter-winner, and two-time team captain. She led Maine field hockey in assists her sophomore, junior and senior seasons.
A native of Pittsfield, Maine, Heather graduated from the University of Maine in 1991 with a degree in Child Development concentrating in Early Childhood Education. She went on to teach in grades pre-k through grade one for 21 years. She now teaches in a special needs Sunday school class at her home church. She and her husband, Ian, reside in Lynchburg, Virginia, and have four children: Christy, Paul, Callie and Corinne.
