Participating Children's Ballet 1 students (ages 3-4) are cast as "Little Candy" in The Nutcracker. At this time, there are four spots in the Monday class from 10:15-10:45 with Meredith McCall, and four spots in the Saturday class from 9:15-9:45am with Alivia Owen.

The fall trimester for all Children's Division (once-a-week) classes begins next Monday, September 14. A trimester lasts 10 weeks (10 classes), and the cost for Children's Ballet 1 is $110.

It was great to see so many ballerinas yesterday for the first day of classes, and we were excited to officially welcome Rachel Mifsud for her first day as a BAP faculty member!

The 2026-27 school year begins today for the Student & Pre-Professional Divisions (Student Level 1 - High School). Year 21 at BAP is officially underway!

Nutcracker registrations are now being accepted for Pre-High School and High School, and we will be sending out info soon to Student Levels 1-5, and will begin accepting registrations for those classes at that time.

For Children's Ballet 1-4, registrations will be accepted soon after the fall trimester has begun (Monday, September 14).

The first Saturday Children's Division classes of the fall trimester are just two weeks from today - September 19!

While some classes are full, a few having openings at this time:

Mommy & Me Ballet from 9-9:30am (ages 18 months - 3)

Children's Ballet 1 from 9:15-9:45am (ages 3-4)

Children's Ballet 4 from 10:45-11:30am (ages 6-7)

A trimester lasts 10 weeks (10 classes), and all Children's Division classes are of a beginner level.

Flashing it back even further to when BAP Artistic Director performed the role of Marie in The Nutcracker!

A holiday tradition unlike any other, we hope your child will join us for this year's production at the Thomas Jefferson High School Theater in Jefferson Hills. Dates/times are the following:

Friday, December 11 at 7pm
Saturday, December 12 at 12pm & 4:30pm
Sunday, December 13 at 12pm & 4:30pm

All registered students in Children's Ballet 1 & up are eligible to participate (ages 3-18), and for the complete fall class schedule, and/or to register, please visit the following link:

For our Children's Ballet 1-4 students, information is sent out soon after fall classes have begun, and registrations are accepted at that time. There is a one-time participation fee of $75, with weekly rehearsals held on Sundays in the mid-afternoon, and beginning in later October. All costumes are provided/maintained by the Ballet Academy of Pittsburgh, so there are no additional costume fees. And, no fundraising.

to one of our very first Nutcrackers, and featuring BAP Head of Faculty Anna Grunewald as Marie!

In a full circle moment, Anna now rehearses the Marie's, and Nutcracker season at BAP is only a few weeks away!

Classes for the Student and Pre-Professional Divisions begin next Tuesday, September 8, while the fall trimester for all Children's Division (once-a-week) classes begins Monday, September 14.

Be sure to register your child so that they can be a part of the largest youth production of The Nutcracker in the greater-Pittsburgh area!
