I have located the Fred McCann cue that I have been searching for the few years. It is in the hands of Rick Vogelsang of Dauphin, Pennsylvania. He asked for a cue in return. I initially agreed. I sent him a description of the cue I would make. It would have been made similar to Fred's cue, less the majority of the inlay work.
He had different ideas and sent me these drawings. He obviously figured he would try and make a score for returning the cue. The work is extensive and costly. But, it isn't about the money. I am an artist. I have my idiosyncrasies. I will not produce or sign a cue that doesn't meet my ideals. I build cues that are tailored to the player in every aspect. Looking at these drawings. I can only say that they do not represent my ideals. I find them ugly and I don't do ugly. I could have added the religious symbols in a tasteful way to identify their importance.
The way to get the best cue and something more than you paid for from me is this. After, the basic construction information is taken, I will ask a few more questions about your other hobbies and interests. Then I will come up with some ideas for inlay work. After that, leave me alone. You'll get the cue of your dreams. If you call, I will add 2 weeks. Call me when I am working on your cue, add 4 weeks. 😉
