Drivers changes can slow down the progress in pits. Loosening the belts and placing them out of the way helps the next driver get in the car faster. Especially if it’s getting out and getting in.

Fast pit stops and driver changes are crucial. Not just to be fast but to have time to check the car over and avoid problems from escalating.
