Played on world-class greens in Pittsburgh's gorgeous Frick Park, Frick Park Lawn Bowling is an organization made up of members from the neighborhood, the city and from the greater Pittsburgh region. Frick Park Lawn Bowling is located at the northern edge of Frick Park in South Point Breeze, a great Pittsburgh neighborhood near Reynolds Street and Carnegie Place, off of Penn Avenue in Point Breeze

. Frick Park Lawn Bowling Club (FPLBC) has novice members as well as former Northeast Division champions. The club welcomes new members at any time during the season and provides free lessons for anyone interested in trying the sport. We have two bowling greens , with the possibility of playing up to 14 games at once. We have a full schedule of leagues, tournaments and social events. There are league games on Tuesday morning at 10 AM as well as on Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM. The club also features 3rd Thursdays bowling for Gen-Xers interested in a fun summer evening out on the greens, lawn bowling with friends, or to try lawn bowling for the first time. In addition, there is open bowling on Saturday and Sunday afternoons at 1:00 PM. We hope you'll visit Frick Park Lawn Bowling and give the sport a try. and the world. Today, we feature Ted Tragard. With 7 years of competitive experience, Ted represents the newer wave of American bowlers — becoming committed to all aspects of the sport.

Ted’s involvement in the game extends beyond competition. As noted on the Bowls USA Governance page, he contributes to the sport’s development and organizational leadership, helping shape the future of bowls in the United States from Frick Park LBC in Pittsburgh.

🥇 2025 Southeast Division Singles Champion: A major regional title that showcased Ted’s precision, composure, and ability to perform under pressure.

🏅 2022 Northeast Division Bowler of the Year Recognition Highlighted on the NED Bowler of the Year listings, Ted has earned distinction for his consistency, sportsmanship, and strong performances across division events.

🎖️ U.S. Open & Southwest/South Central Competitor Ted has tested himself against deep, international fields at the U.S. Open, while also competing across the Southwest and South Central divisions — gaining experience on a wide range of greens, conditions, and competitive environments.

Ted enters the 2026 Sea to Sea Cup as one of Team North America’s Northeast USA representatives— a player who helps build the competitive ranks of our neighbours to the south.
