Where are my sugar addicts at?!?!

Maybe you’re like me and like to hit the donuts pretty hard or the cookies, cake, chips, alcohol, insert your struggle here. Well....This might be for you ESPECIALLY if you were recently indulging at a Super Bowl party, have taken part in some paczkis for Fat Tuesday, and are planning to live it up while celebrating Valentine’s Day before the start of Lent tomorrow!

And if that time was a long time ago, what are you waiting for? Who you were even yesterday need not limit all you can achieve today. So try something new that pushes you to grow with a really great instructor showing you the way.

Another one in the books and this one might have brought me my biggest results.

Ya know why? I committed. To not only the workout program, but to my nutrition and more importantly, myself.

I’ve been doing these programs for awhile now and, it’s not that I haven’t gotten results, but I’ve always short-changed myself because I never went 100% in. I would show up and do the workouts, but I would half-ass it when it came to my nutrition. But uh uh, NOT THIS TIME!

And man, do I feel good.
Better than good.
Changed.
Transformed.
In control.

So after 2 rounds of this program starting all the way back in December, and 13.6 lbs lost (and that’s just from Jan 1st), I’m celebrating my wins and I’m moving on to the next one Monday and I can’t wait to see where this one takes me!

Get outside your comfort zone and learn to thrive there. ⁣

People are so afraid of trying new things, putting themselves out there, worried about people judging them, concerned about failing...and I know, because I used to be one of those people. ⁣

But you know what happens when you step outside of your comfort zone???⁣

Change occurs ⁣
Life begins ⁣
The magic happens ⁣

I mean I'm putting a dance video out there where people can judge, critique, or even just have something to mean to say, but you know what? I just don't care. I channeled 1996 cheerleader Danielle and danced my 🍑 off. I felt joyful, happy, confident, and above all else, not a care in the world except what I was experiencing in that moment. ⁣

EVERYONE should feel that. ⁣

Sooooo...if you're ready to party with me like it's 1996, join me kicking off Shaun T's new program on Monday. 30 days. 30-35 minute workouts. Dancing. Muscle sculpting and conditioning. Insanity-style moves. Lifting. And did I mention a whole lotta dancing and feeling good about yourself?!?!⁣

I don't think I'd give my younger self advice; instead, I'd just walk beside her and talk to her more kindly. ⁣

I'd remind her she's worth it. ⁣

I'd remind her there is beauty to be found even in the tough spots. ⁣

I'd remind her often how much potential she has and how she will see it fully come out one day. ⁣

I wouldn't give her advice that would change her path. I'd just be a more positive voice walking alongside her on the one she took. ⁣

It's amazing the lessons you can learn from a children's storybook!  ⁣

Cambrie brought this one home from school the other day, a gift from her teacher (Shout out to Mrs. Buffalini). She wanted to sit down right away and read it together...and I am so glad we did! ⁣

Meet the good egg. He’s a verrrrrry good egg indeed.⁣

But trying to be so good is hard when everyone else is plain ol’ rotten. (You know trying to be everything to everyone and just getting run down in the process). ⁣

As the other eggs in the dozen behave badly, the good egg starts to crack from all the pressure of feeling like he has to be perfect. (Can you relate???) ⁣

So, he decides enough is enough! It’s time for him to make a change…⁣

And you know what he does...he steps away from the bad eggs to take care of himself and find himself again, only to return to the bad eggs as a changed person.  ⁣

This story reminds us of the importance of balance, self-care, and accepting those we love (even if they are sometimes a bit rotten).⁣

We can all learn A LOT from the good egg! ⁣

Don’t be afraid to shine, the world needs your light. ~Gabby Bernstein

And light is what this chick right here has! Laura joined my team last year and I could immediately see that positive soul inside of her. She’s one of those people who smiles with her eyes...do you know what I mean? Something just radiates out of them, especially when she’s surrounded by her husband and kids or when she’s just trying to help others. She’s just one of those people you want in your corner, cheering you on, supporting you.

Since taking that first step last year to make her health a priority and help other busy mamas like her in the process, she’s impacted so many lives including my own. Keep shining your light bright Laura because others need it, especially right now.

The power is in our choices.

I knew starting a second round of 75 Hard would mean coming up against the sweets on Easter because that’s how my family rolls. Cakes, cookies, chocolate, peanut butter eggs...all the good stuff. Challenging? Yes. Impossible? No.

Now when I start to want something sweet, I think, “Is it really worth it?” Or “Is it getting me closer or further away from my goals?” That answer helps me make a choice and in that choice I have power over my decisions.

Am I sitting here saying I will never have sweets again? NO! But for now, the goals I’m working toward, and how good I’m feeling, I’m content.

So how did I survive Easter with all this yummy stuff calling out to me? I planned ahead! When everyone else was having a piece of cake or pie, I went in my kitchen and made up my version of a healthy dessert...half a scoop of Cafe Latte Shakeology and half a scoop of Chocolate Recover (my post-workout shake) and turned it into a brownie batter and voila, mission accomplished.

Sometimes you just have to be creative, but you can totally win the battle on sugar, even if you have a sweet tooth like me!!
