Just in time for Halloween, I've got a new blog post about my recent round at Salem Country Club.

Originally founded in Salem, Massachusetts in 1895, the club now sits in nearby Peabody, Mass., but continues to honor its heritage and the history of the community with its witchy logo -- easily one of the best logos in golf and, like the Headless Horseman logo at Sleepy Hollow Country Club, one of the spookiest! Salem CC is a Donald Ross design that in the last 10 years has undergone a major restoration project to bring Ross's original vision back to life. It was awesome to visit in mid-October, when the witches, warlocks, ghosts and ghouls of Salem were restless and the fall foliage was in full color. Check out the blog for lots of pictures from the course, and let me know what you think!

New blog post is up about my visit this spring to play the Red course at Streamsong Resort in central Florida. This is part one of three in which I'll share my experiences playing the three championship courses at the resort. The Red, a Coore & Crenshaw design, is currently ranked among the top 100 courses in America by GOLF.com and among the top 100 public courses by Golf Digest, Golf Magazine and Golfweek. Check out the write up (with lots of pictures), and let me know what you think!

Through the years, I've been all over the state of Florida. I've vacationed from St. Augustine to the Keys. I've driven across the panhandle, all the way down I-95, across Alligato

New blog post is up about a round I recently played at The Legacy Golf Club, at Lakewood Ranch -- not a top 100 course, but a place where I got to spend the day with a wonderful new friend from Canada (who shot a lights-out 69, by the way!). Legacy is a really fun Florida golf course with a wonderful staff who could not have been more welcoming during my visit. Check out the blog, be sure to watch the video of Jurassic Gator, and let me know what you think of the post if you feel so inclined. :)

The people I meet along the way were always going to be the most meaningful part of the journey I've been on since I launched this effort to begin playing the great golf courses of

Guess I’m a professional photographer now. Visit Virginia, the official tourism organization for the Commonwealth of Virginia (the “Virginia Is For Lovers” people), reached out today after noticing on Instagram this picture I took last year at Spring Creek Golf Club and asked if they could license it to use in their advertising. After some intense negotiations, we came to an agreement and executed a licensing contract. The check won’t make me rich, but it will pay for my next couple of rounds of golf, which ain’t nothing! And now I get to add “professional photorapher” to my resume.

Interesting insights coming out of this limited research about carry distances for golfers with average or slightly below average swing speed. Could be some equipment changes are needed to get you back to the right distance gapping in your full set of clubs. Tiger (pictured) is probably safe to stick with his current setup.
