It’s hard for me to look back at that picture and not cringe.

I did not love myself.
I didn’t even like myself.

I wish I could just give that girl a kiss on the cheek and tell her that everything is gonna get better. Not perfect, but a whole hell of a lot better.

I am all about Mindset, Nutrition and Fitness. It’s like the trifecta for feeling good about yourself.

First you gotta believe in yourself. You gotta have that ah-ha moment where you realize you are ready to make a change. You gotta have a fire in your belly!

Next you gotta feed your body right. Eat foods that don’t make you tired, bloated, anxious, angry. Food affects more than your waistline.

Finally, you gotta move! Even if you start with a 10 minute walk down the street. Just move! A wise 80 year old woman that used to come to my Jazzercise class once told me....”You gotta move so you don’t rust”.

Do those 3 things everyday, and I promise you are going to love yourself a little more each day.

How many transformation photos do you need to see before you start your own?

Are you ready to take some simple steps, each day, to get to that transformation?

Stop beating yourself up for your past, for what you didn’t do yesterday, for that bad relationship, for what you ate today, or for that workout you didn’t do.

Your past is NOT your whole story…...it’s what you learned from it and how you are going to grow from it.

Scroll to the right for my Phase 1 results!
I just wrapped up Phase 1 of this 9 week program, and Phase 2 has officially begun.

I’ve lost about 4 lbs over the last 3 weeks, and I think I might see some abs popping through.

Here’s what I’ve been doing:
💪18-35 minute workouts, 5 days a week

🥗I’ve been following a simple portion controlled meal plan that includes ALL food groups.

🥤I have enjoyed my Starbucks, and some treats here and there.

🍷I haven’t had any alcohol, but that’s my choice (you can have drinks on this plan)

🍨I have my “nice” cream everyday that is packed with vitamins, probiotics and superfoods.

I am being consistent, but that doesn’t mean I don’t mess up every once in a while.

But even when I mess up, I don’t give up. I just brush myself off, and keep going.

The workouts are not my biggest struggle. I have created a routine, that became a habit, and now it’s just part of my day like brushing my teeth.

Nutrition is where I struggle, because I just LIKE to cook, bake and EAT!

I know all about balance and moderation, but sometimes that’s easier said than done. (how many boxes of girl scout cookies did I just order anyway).

Luckily this system is a lifestyle, and not a diet. You should still be able to eat the foods you love, eat cake, have wine, and it shouldn’t be complicated.

It’s definitely a work in progress for me, but like I said, I won’t give up.

There are SO MANY benefits to detoxing and cutting sugar from your diet….

I couldn’t possibly cover them all here, but here are a few of the most important.

#1. Better health -- by avoiding diseases caused by high sugar consumption

How did Week 1 go?

In Week 1, I focused on getting control of a few things:

Mindful Eating. Really focusing not so much on how much I’m eating, but how what I am eating makes me feel. Does what I’m eating give me energy, make me feel tired, or affect my digestive system.
Winding down before bed with some short pre-bed stretches. These have really helped to improve my sleep quality. Sleep is so important for our mental and physical well-being.
Adjusting to the new workouts. My new program has some equipment that I have never used before; a control track and a core stability ball. The first week has really been about learning to use this equipment safely and effectively.

Is there some crazy physical transformation between the two photos...NO. Did I expect one from just one week….NO.

It just feels great to commit to something new, to set goals and have a plan. The holidays and working from home have created some bad habits, so this was just the kickstart that I needed.

I want everyone to know how great it feels to:

👉🏻 Having a CLEAR PLAN to follow
👉🏻 Have ENERGY because of the foods you ate.
👉🏻 Exercise because you LOVE IT and not because you have to.
👉🏻 Having a community that cheers you on
👉🏻 Knowing the joy is in the journey - not in the scale.

Make ahead for the week…

If you follow my stories, this probably looks familiar. This was my lunch from last week. I made it on Monday and it lasted all week in the fridge. When I am make it again, I’m going to add some chopped water chestnuts for a little crunch.

Chicken & Cauliflower Fried Rice

Ingredients

2 lb. raw lean ground chicken breast

5 Tbsp. organic coconut aminos, divided use (or low sodium soy sauce)

1 Tbsp. dry sherry

1 clove garlic, finely chopped

Hot water

2 medium carrots, chopped

1 cup fresh (or frozen) peas

1 bag of frozen cauliflower rice

2 Tbsp. extra-virgin organic coconut oil, divided use

4 large eggs, lightly beaten

4 green onions, thinly sliced, reserve a small amount of the greens for garnish

Instructions

Combine chicken, 1 Tbsp. coconut aminos, sherry, and garlic in a medium bowl; mix well. Set aside for 30 minutes.

Boil water in a steamer or large saucepan over high heat. Reduce heat to medium-high. Place carrots in a steamer basket; cook for 2 to 3 minutes.

Add peas; cook for 2 to 3 minutes, or until tender-crisp and peas are bright green. Place in ice water bath to stop the cooking process. Set aside.

Heat 1 Tbsp. oil in large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.

Add chicken mixture; cook, stirring frequently to break chicken into small pieces, for 4 to 6 minutes, or until chicken is no longer pink. Remove from the pan. Set aside.

Add remaining 1 Tbsp. oil; heat, over medium-high heat.

Add cauliflower and remaining 4 Tbsp. coconut aminos; cook, stirring frequently, for 2 to 4 minutes.

Make a well in the middle of the cauliflower mixture. Add eggs; cook, stirring frequently in the well, for 2 to 3 minutes, or until eggs start to set.

Mix eggs into cauliflower mixture. Add chicken, carrots, and green onions; cook, stirring frequently, for 2 minutes, or until heated through.

Divide evenly into eight serving bowls; garnish evenly with green onion.
