HOME MATCH ALERT!!!

This Sunday Feb 18 Steel City Surge will host DC Dynasty in a double header starting at 10AM with doors opening at 930AM.

Welcoming spectators for a 5$ entry fee (good for both matches) with HS athletes permitted access for free! Not able to attend? Be sure to cheer on the ⚡urgers from home via the VLA live stream on YouTube!

Huge Shout-out to our very gracious hosts The venue is located at 1 Herron Ave Emsworth, PA 15202 with parking located on the left before reaching the building and on the right side of the actual building itself.

Men, time to get serious! While the ladies warm up one more time, all eyes will be on the new faces of the Steel City Surge! Come on down to see what the highest level of volleyball in western PA looks like. Think you have what it takes to rep the black and gold? 6-8pm at , $10 to register if you're new to the team.

Ladies, your final open gym before tryouts will take place at the same time and address. $5 to participate. Thanks again for last week's fantastic turnout; let's show up and show out one more time!

Women's AND Men's news!

We have two dates secured for women's open gyms at ! These are not mandatory for tryouts/don't oblige you to join; use it to stay sharp for the competition, or just get some reps while supporting the team! Representatives will be in attendance to answer questions about the league and the team's next steps on 9/30.

On the same dates, we'll have a men's open gym, then a one-day tryout for newcomers on 10/8. Spread the word, and let's make this season one to remember for the Steel City Surge!

🎵Ok, now ladies🎶

The Steel City Surge is joining the women's division of the VLA! We're excited to announce is hosting tryouts for the women's team on October 21-22 from 6-8pm. $10 to register day-of. Please contact Colin Vitale at canvitale@gmail with any questions. An open gym/informational session will be held at a date TBD. Share with/tag any ladies you know could represent the Burgh at the next level, and we'll see you in October!

VLA CUP/SEASON RECAP:

First of all we definitely didn't forget to get a team pic and then crop in and Baronio on an older pic, they are just working on their blocking and hitting form here obviously.

The ⚡urgers battled all 3 days of the VLA cup against some very stiff competition and fell just short in the Silver Championship.

We were able to accumulate 12 VLA points at the VLA Cup this past weekend. This over doubles our season total of 9 going into the cup and likely will wrap up our year ranking us 10th out of the 32 tier 2 teams for the season.

Proud of these guys and what we have accomplished in our first VLA season!

Only 2 more sleeps until the largest indoor Pro Volleyball tournament in the US goes down in Chicago. We will take on the bright and early Friday morning.

All 81 matches will be streamed on the YouTube channel. We will try to keep everyone updated throughout the tournament with our results and expected match times. Be sure to tune in and cheer the ⚡urgers on!

The first pic says it all! The boys were⚡urging this weekend as we successfully defended home court against and , both in 4 sets.

Professional Men’s Volleyball has come to the 'Burgh!!

We are hosting our first tri match this Sunday the 12th in Pittsburgh at Chatham University. The ⚡urgers will take on the at 12pm and will play again versus the at 4pm, with Columbus and Niagara facing each other at 2pm. All matches will also be streamed on the VLA YouTube channel for anyone wanting to watch that cannot attend!

Admission will be 5$ for adults and FREE for any student-athlete wearing their Club/HS team gear. Please feel free to share this match info with anyone that may be interested in showing support towards men's volleyball and the newly formed Steel City Surge. If there are any questions/concerns about this event or anything else we can help out with please don't hesitate to reach out!
