Another common discussion I have with shooters on the distance range or newer competitors at events. For Tactical Biathlon or “Combat Accuracy” targets, 5.56 starts drifting about 350-ish. See ballistic solver pics in comments.

This morning’s Private Pistol 1 training for a client. Started about 0630… Session went awesome, shooter absorbed and executed super well. Got hot out fast.

180 deg Lateral Transition with a partial barrier… “Eyes First” reps with forced posture/weight shifting as well as compression and re-presentation for each shot. Thanks for all my custom g*t work!

I see this a lot at events. Shooters either don’t understand angles at all and send rounds over, OR, they “overthink” angles and start compensating for mild angles that don’t justify adjusting for.
I see the second “level” point on VTACs at distance a lot and occasionally on Tank Traps since they often force awkward rifle placement. Hope this helps some folks. 👍

My first time shooting Close Quarters stages. This event had 2 of them. Gives the competitor a broader experience. Finally used my red dot I’ve considered taking off many times, glad I didn’t. The “Battlefield Pick-up” is always a surprise too. I really enjoy a well balanced challenge that stresses you physically, shooting skills, AND makes you think. Sorry the hat cam is a bit chaotic but I am searching for 180 deg 10-15 yard lateral threats.

If you live near the range, it’s going to be a busy weekend here. Lots of freedom happening… Family events, competition training, and weapons/ammo testing.
