17+ Years Experience Coaching Softball

Asst. I have been coaching softball since 2006.

High School Coach Since ’21-22 Season

C.U.D.I.T. Certified Hitting Instructor

My name is Coach Quinn and I've coached baseball, softball, football, and basketball at various levels since 1996. During the last 18 years, I've coached at the Little League, travel ball, and high school levels. As a longtime coach, one of my passions is to not only help kids become better hitters, but to help

them become stronger mentally, and to help them realize their full potential. This approach and my continual development to be the best coach that I can be, has led me to C.U.D.I.T. Concentric Hitting Program. C.U.D.I.T. isn’t just about teaching hitters how to hit, it’s about teaching hitters how to mentally prepare to step into the batters box. They say in softball/baseball that 90% of the game is mental. If that's the case, then it's time we started training that aspect of the game. With C.U.D.I.T., hitters will not only learn the proper mechanics of the swing, but the "why and how" the swing mechanics connect to produce a more fluid, powerful swing. All lessons are individualized to meet each hitter’s specific needs, recognizing that those needs can change over time. Lessons will always be different and challenging, no matter what level the hitter has reached. There is always room for athlete growth in the C.U.D.I.T program. Specializes in: C.U.D.I.T.® Concentric Hitting Lessons, Catching, & Defense. Ages: 8 & Up

Area: South Jersey

Certified: 2024

New logo for Swing Away Hitting!

Now taking new players!

Whether you're looking your first hitting instructor or for a change from your current instructor (sometimes a different approach can do wonders), I'll work with your player, not only on the mechanics of hitting, but also the mental side of batting, becoming a more confident and effective hitter.

I'm also taking players for Defense and Catching instruction!

Feel free to call or email with any questions you may have and for pricing.

Great day for some hitting lessons! Ok, it's a little hot, but it's never a bad day when you're working to get better!

Same goes for lessons, whether hitting or fielding. If you're not reinforcing outside of lessons on your own time.

Build (or rebuild) an efficient swing = Faster bat speed = More power.

Swing on the right is from the first lesson assessment.

There was a lot in that swing that needed to be cleaned up, and habits needing to be broken and rebuilt.

Started with working on following first:

1) Quieting the hands, getting rid off the big circle at load to leg lift phase of the swing.

2) Eliminating opening the hip on leg lift to start the coil.

3) Getting the back heel turned and lifted as opposed to little to no turn, causing the straight legs during the drive phase of the swing.

Swing on the left is from 4th lesson. (Still more clean up and fine tuning to be done in these areas)

1) Hands working back instead of in a circle during load to leg lift phase of the swing.

2) Not opening the hip on load to leg lift. Started working on sitting in the back hip during load to leg lift phase.

3) back heel turning and lifting with back knee turning toward the pitcher during the drive phase of the swing.

Very proud of this player for the work she's been putting in!!!

The process of breaking habits and retraining muscle memory takes time and can be awkward and frustrating , but when you're determined to improve, the process of rebuilding swing mechanics are worth the hard work when you see the results.
