A reformer/tower class can be

transformative💥Using the push thru bar with the sliding Reformer carriage opens up a whole new set of experiences to enhance a Pilates apparatus workout ✅️

The moving carriage takes a higher level of concentration, control, and core strength than using the Reformer or Cadillac alone, or the tower/table by itself

Why add a fitball to your reformer work?

→ More instability = more deep core
→ Sneaky glute + inner thigh work
→ Forces you to slow down
→ Excellent training for athletes, advanced Pilates practitioners and those with superior balance skills
→ because you can😉

Safety first:
→ Definitely try ONLY with a spotter
→ Definitely NOT for classes or those new to Pilates

This flow will light up your deep core🔥 Save this if you love a next level challenge.

Raise the bar🔺️

with this Pilates Dowel Feet in Straps Teaser😎

This fun flow is for intermediate to advanced Pilates Reformer students and Pilates teachers. I just threaded a dowel through the straps.

I'm on one blue spring 🔵

This is a full body flow focusing on core and leg strength.

Put some umphhh into your chair seated leg work! It's a great variation choice for Pilates teachers to incorporate into private sessions. It is also a good choice for pregnant women and others who cannot lay down for footwork.
Leg pumps can be performed for

✔️leg and ankle strength
✔️ankle mobility and stability
✔️torso stability and core strength
✔️challenging all of the Pilates principles, including breathing, coordination, rhythm and flow, concentration and control.
✔️improving spatial awareness (cognitive awareness of where you are in space)
✔️challenging proprioception (your body's internal sensory feedback)

At 73 I'm training for...

longevity...So are my Pilates clients. How about you? I'd say the average age of the majority of my clients is 75. They do keep up💥

Here I'm using the fabulous Reformer/Tower Combo to mobilize my spine in this variation of Circle Saw on the Cadillac push thru bar.

I'm using the Box, Bar, and one Blue Spring🔵 See my IG page for full Reformer/Tower series with the roll down bar.

Put a ring on it 💫

This is just one of the exercises I'm doing with the Magic Circle in my Pilates Classes this week. See more moves on my IG page💫

The Pilates Magic Circle, invented by Joseph Pilates, was originally used as a stand alone apparatus (literally) with its own classic repertoire. All exercises were done standing or sitting. The main exercises were squeezing the circle with both hands and pushing against the body with one hand.

Fast forward to 2026. The ring is so versatile, it didnt take long to make the leap to the Pilates apparati, and is commonly used on the Reformer, chair, ladder barrel, and Trapeze Table by creative movers. It adds extra arm or leg work, or can provide body support or assist moves, like the Long Spine.

Single Straight Leg Stretch

On the Reformer with the dowel. See my IG page for full series.

Even though consided "classical" in some circles, the Pilates mat "Series of 5" was not in the original mat repertoire that Pilates developed.

1. Single leg stretch
2. Double Leg Stretch
3. Single Straight Leg Stretch aka Scissors
4. Double Straight Leg Lower and Lift
5. Criss Cross

Joseph Pilates did develop the Single Leg Stretch and Double Leg Stretch in his original matwork.

The "Series of Five" Pilates exercises (aka "Stomach Series" (which is a misnomer because you exercise your stomach only when you eat😂...one of my pet peeves🤨) was developed and
popularized by Romana Kryzanowska, who studied with Joseph Pilates to rehab a ballet injury as a young girl. She later became manager of the revamped "Pilates Studio" for Clara Pilates, which moved to a new location after Joseph Pilates passed away
