Another portion of the 2021 ASCE Metropolitan Conference was the R. John Craig Legacy Competition. After a long year, the Rutgers Concrete Canoe Team is proud to announce that our canoe “The Iceberg” was awarded 3rd Place in the 2021 ASCE Metropolitan Conference. Due to the circumstances, the team met virtually to discuss how to innovate a concrete canoe based on the Committee on National Concrete Canoe Competitions’ Request for Proposal. Our team utilized several research sources and design software to bring our canoe to the finish line through hard work and collaboration.

With Rutgers’ return to campus this upcoming Fall 2021, we are looking for new members to help us mix, construct, and race our canoe for Race Day! Concrete canoe offers students a chance to tackle the different aspects of civil engineering through the design, mix, construction, and project management phases of a project. No prior experience is necessary to join, and we are open to all majors. All we ask is that you come ready to learn and have some fun :)
