Congratulations to the following PHS soccer players who were named to the Miami Valley League (MVL) All-League Teams !!!

GIRLS:

1st Team - Alexis Burroughs (Sr)
2nd Team - Sam Clark (Jr)
Honorable Mention - Maddi Rampulla (Sr)

BOYS:

1st Team - Braxton Penrod (Sr) & Bryce Streib (Jr)
2nd Team - Brennen Angle (So)
HM - Mazzi Martinez (So) & Brady Weiss (Jr)

The Piqua boys soccer team ran their season record to 9-5-1 with a 8-0 win over Springfield Shawnee. The Indians 9 wins assures the squad of a winning record for 2025.

Braxton Penrod secured another hat trick scoring 3. Other scorers were Mazzi Martinez with 2, and Jesse Baker, Bryce Streib, and Will Ahrens each with a goal a piece.

Assists came off the feet of Baker, Dominick Goetze, Streib, Chase Pettus, Martinez, and Blake Deal who all had 1.

Keepers Tanner Stevens and Max Willoughby combined for the Indian's second straight shutout.

The MaxPreps Player of the Game was senior Jesse Baker with a tremendous work rate, great touches, and proper decision-making.

The boys are back in action Tuesday, closing out their MVL conference schedule against arch-rival Troy in the Ronald McDonald House Charity game starting at 7:00pm.

The Indians boys soccer team celebrated Senior Night with a resounding 17-0 victory over Greenville tonight at Wertz Stadium.

Scoring for the Indians was Braxton Penrod (3-hat trick), Gavin Larger (3-hat trick), Dominick Goetze (2), Tanner Stevens (2), Troy Thompson (1), Jesse Baker (1), Chase Pettus (1), Mazzi Martinez (1), Max Willoughby (1), Jordan Swisher (1), and Logan Mertz (1). Every senior scored on Senior Night with Stevens, Swisher, and Mertz recording their first-ever varsity goals. In goal, Stevens also shared the Indian's first shutout of the season with Willoughby.

Assists were tallied by Thompson, Pettus, and Martinez with 2 each, as Baker, Blake Deal, and Brennen Angle registered 1 a piece.

Speaking of assists, as well as scoring a hat trick, senior Braxton Penrod recorded 5 assists to break the single-game record that was previously held by Max Kaye. Penrod was awarded the MaxPreps Player of the Game

The 8-5-1 boys return to action on Saturday at Wertz vs. Springfield Shawnee with a 10:00am kickoff.

The boys team travelled to Kenton Ridge and came away with a 1-1 draw vs. the Cougars. The boys are now 7-3-1 and get prepare to face MVL powerhouse Tipp City on the road Tuesday with a 6:00pm kickoff.

Scoring for the Indians was Braxton Penrod, burying a penalty kick.

The MaxPreps Player of the Game was senior right back Gavin Larger with his best game since changing positions.

Tough game but good result for a Saturday on the road.

On Youth Night, the PHS Boys Soccer team scored a huge win over MVL archrival Sidney, beating the Yellow Jackets for the first time in 7 years, 5-1. The boys team is now 7-3 overall and 5-1 in league play.

Netting one goal apiece were Brady Weiss and Will Ahrens. Registering one assist were Troy Thompson, Dominick Goetze, and Mazzi Martinez.

In a great team victory and comprehensive win, the night was highlighted by the MaxPreps Player of the Game, Braxton Penrod. The senior captain hit the hat trick (3 goals) and also assisted on two more.

The Indians are back in action on Saturday as they travel to Kenton Ridge for a 3:00pm kickoff.

The Indians boys team turn in a magnificent game tonight, beating Fairborn 2-1 to move into 1st place in the MVL all by themselves by virtue of Butler’s loss to Troy. The win ups the Indians’ overall record to 6-2.

Braxton Penrod hit the brace with 2 goals with assists coming from Bryce Streib and Mazzi Martinez. The MaxPreps Player of the Game goes to sophomore keeper Tanner Stevens who led a superb defense and held the MVL’s two leading scorers to only 1 goal.

The boys travel to Butler on Thursday in a huge matchup with a 7:00 kickoff.

Your Indians boys soccer team rebound from a loss on Saturday and overcome a 1-0 halftime deficit to stay undefeated in MVL play, beating West Carrollton 2-1. The boys are now 5-2 on the year.

Goals were scored by seniors Braxton Penrod and Troy Thompson. Penrod also had an assist, as did junior Bryce Streib. Sophomore Tanner Stevens got the win in goal. Junior Brady Weiss was named the MaxPreps Player of the Game for his work rate and leadership - in his first game back from concussion protocol.

The boys continue MVL and season play on Tuesday vs. Fairborn at 7:15 at Wertz.
