Happy birthday shoutout to one of our amazing Moody students Pedro and his dad Luis Fabricio Antunes!

These guys share birthday months, so I want to give them a special shoutout for being incredible members of our program 🙏 We are blessed to have them and Pedro, getting ready to test soon for his 4th kyu, is really learning so quickly and couldnt ask for a better student in my class!

During our 11+ classes I teach, you’ll often hear kids running around, yelling, laughing, and playing in our training room.

Good!

You know why? Because that means parents are bringing their kids to the academy so they can train.
Sure, I could crack down on it. I could demand a silence and tell parents their kids need to sit quietly the entire time (never gonna happen btw)

And maybe because of that, some of those parents would stop coming altogether.

Of course, if the kids get too crazy, myself or one of my students will tell them to calm down a little. There still has to be some order.

But at the end of the day, we are a family... YKF Karate Family! We cater to families of mothers, fathers, and children.

Some programs I know may prefer silence during adult class.

Ours isn’t one of them.
Bring the kids. Let them play. Get your training in.

Our amazing friends at Pinson Elementary Schools had us come into PE classes today and demonstrate some fundamental character building lessons, as well as some self defense skills!
